The Vanderbilt Learning Center (VLC) is a lively ministry of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church (VPC). The Learning Center Team works closely with church staff and operates under the watchful eye and loving heart of our Director of Christian Education, Heather Mikes. The team consists of families, teachers and staff working together to support school operations, raise funds for educational initiatives, generate opportunities for student enrichment, and create a nurturing environment for both the enrolled students and their families. There is great joy in the daily work of building strong academic foundations and positive attitudes toward God, self, friends, family and learning. Vision Statement
The Vanderbilt Learning Center provides young children ages two through six with meaningful opportunities to grow and develop with their peers in a high-quality, nurturing, faith-based environment. Its small group instruction, artistic enrichments and family-oriented programming ensure every child and family a joyful learning experience. Mission Statement
The students, families and staff of the Vanderbilt Learning Center, a ministry of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, are committed to becoming more thoughtful, caring and intelligent as we delight in our educational journey. We are getting to know God in our lives and working toward creating a more compassionate world. The Learning Center is a program for the whole child — providing a service to the community through the highest early childhood education to meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of each individual child in a loving, Christian environment.

The Night Before Teachers Return
'Twas the night before teachers came back through the door,
When the classrooms were quiet for a few moments more!
The crayons were waiting, the puzzles in place,
Soon tiny feet would be filling each space.
The bulletin boards stood so bright and so neat,
Just waiting for fingerprints, glitter, and feet.
The coffee was brewing, the planners in sight,
The admin was smiling (and working all night!).
Tomorrow brings hugs, happy stories to share,
A few happy tears—and lamination everywhere!
We're thankful you're here and excited to start,
Because this preschool runs on your talent and heart.
Most of all, we're grateful that God leads our way,
Guiding each lesson, each smile, every day.
May His love shine through you in all that you do,
As little eyes learn just how faithful and true.
So rest up tonight—we're ready to begin,
With Christ at the center, His joy found within.

We're so excited to begin a new school year together on Tuesday, August 11! New, rare opportunity to join our sweet PK2 program on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Students should be age 2 by September 1st. Preschool hours are 8:30a-12:30p. Early care and after care opportunities available.

We learned that Vanderbilt Learning Center has been selected as one of the Top Five Finalists in the Naples Daily News 2026 Community’s Choice Awards – Best of Naples! Final voting is in progress. The deadline is June 24 at 11:59 p.m. VLC is listed under Kids & Education-preschools. Tell your friends or keep it the best kept secret in Naples. Your choice! We are honored and blessed by our community either way! What a very special calling this sweet school is.
