Sometimes it's what the eye can't see that reveals the situation. Here is a thermal infrared image of recently installed solar panel arrays on a bank roof. There are anomalies that a post installation inspection can detect while everything is still under warranty. In SW Florida give us a call for your Thermal inspection now - One Ring Drones.
Construction monitoring - weekly or monthly - can put you there when you can't be there! It will allow complete inspection of the worksite, ensuring progress is verified and compliance assured. When you can't always be there yourself, call One Ring Drones for your quote today.

The Naples Pier reconstruction is fully in the demolition phase (but progress is being made).
When Hurricane Ian struck on September 28, 2022, more than 30 pilings collapsed, roughly 460 feet of the structure was heavily impacted (with about 140 feet of the end section lost to the Gulf of Mexico), and the remaining over-water portions were deemed unusable. Engineers determined that the entire structure needed full replacement for safety and long-term resiliency.
The rebuild project replaces the pier with a stronger, more resilient version designed to current federal, state, and local standards. Key features include:
Taller elevation (raised at least 3 feet higher).
Larger and stronger pilings to better withstand future storms and coastal conditions.
Modern engineering while preserving the pier's historic character and community appeal. Additional amenities in final approved designs: an underwater camera for viewing marine life and a police/beach patrol office with restrooms.
Timeline and Status (as of early April 2026):
2023–2025: Design work completed.
December 2025: FEMA obligated funding (approximately $11.4 million grant toward the project).
January 5, 2026: Groundbreaking ceremony.
January 2026 onward: Demolition of the damaged remnants began (expected to take 4–6 months initially). Full construction is underway by Shoreline Foundation Inc.
Projected completion: Approximately 18 months from construction start, targeting around July 2027.
Cost and Funding: The construction contract was awarded for $23.5 million
Naples Pier reconstruction is finally underway after 2022 hurricane Ian. Fascinating watching the cranes and barges work! This is an ideal construction monitoring project now that FEMA funds have been allocated.
