This is the part you don’t usually see.
After looking through a collection, touching the fabrics, studying the colors and trying on silhouettes, it’s time to sit down and make the decisions.

And this is where I think about you.
Will this work for life in Southwest Florida?
Is the fabric comfortable?
Is the silhouette flattering and wearable?
Which colors will make you look beautiful?
Is there something special about it that makes it worth bringing into Wildflower?

I’m not simply placing an order. I’m imagining the women who will eventually wear these pieces.

Because for me, buying has never been about choosing the most clothes.
It’s about choosing the right ones.

Sometimes, it’s the details that make it yours.

I’m at market in New York, and while I’m looking at color, silhouette, fabric and fit, I’m also always noticing the details.
An unexpected flower at the waist.
An interesting button.
A beautiful texture.

A little touch that makes something feel special.
Because personal style isn’t about wearing something simply because it’s beautiful or because it’s on trend.

It’s about discovering the pieces that feel like you.

Some women love a quiet, understated detail. Others want something playful, artistic or unexpected. Those little choices are part of what makes our style personal.

And when I’m buying for Wildflower, I’m thinking about the women who will eventually wear these pieces — and the details that might make one of them smile and say,
“Oh, this is so me.”

There are seasons in a woman’s life when something begins to shift.

The life she is living now may look very different from the one she dressed for ten or twenty years ago.

Her days have changed.
Her body may have changed.
What matters to her may have changed.

And sometimes, without even realizing it, she opens her closet and discovers that the woman reflected there is someone she used to be.

I believe our wardrobe should evolve as we do.
Not because we need to become someone new — but because there is something beautiful about recognizing the woman we have become and allowing the way we dress to reflect her.

A woman’s style should reflect the woman she has become.

Style isn’t self-expression. It’s self-recognition.

I keep coming back to this.

To me, self-recognition is that feeling of being comfortable in your own body and knowing who you are.

You walk through the world with confidence because you feel good about yourself. And when someone notices—“You look amazing.” “That color is so you.” “I love your style.”—you enjoy the compliment, but there’s also a quiet sense of yes, I know.
Because what they’re seeing already feels true to you.

That’s where I believe personal style really begins.
It’s not about creating an image for other people or trying to become someone different.
It’s recognizing the woman who is already there—and then choosing how you want to express her.
Through your colors.
Through your clothing.
Through the way you put yourself together.
Through the way you show up.
Authentically. Comfortably. In a way that feels right to you.

Maybe that’s the real beauty of style:
You’re not dressing to find yourself.
You’re dressing from a place of already knowing yourself.

Most women think color is about the clothes.

It isn’t.

It’s about what those colors do to your face.

This week, during two color analysis appointments, my clients were amazed by what they saw.

The wrong colors were:
- Creating dark circles around the eyes that hadn’t been noticeable before.
- Casting shadows around the mouth that looked like a mustache.
- Making their skin appear yellow, green, or grey.
- Emphasizing sun spots and rosacea.
- Flattening their complexion and dulling their natural glow.

Then we found their best colors.

Suddenly…
- Their eyes looked brighter.
- Their complexion appeared smoother.
- Their cheekbones looked more defined.
- Discoloration softened.
- Their skin seemed to glow.
- They looked more rested and vibrant.

We hadn’t changed them.

We had simply removed everything that was distracting from seeing them.

That’s the true purpose of a color analysis.

When the color is right, people stop noticing the clothing…

…and start noticing you.

One of my favorite parts of owning Wildflower is traveling to market and seeing next season’s collections before they ever arrive in the S tores.

As I walk through each collection, I’m not simply asking, “Is this beautiful?”

I’m asking…

Will this flatter a Toned Autumn?
Will this work for a Tinted Spring?
Does this silhouette honor a woman’s body instead of fighting it?
Will this become one of those pieces she reaches for again and again?

I look for collections that offer a beautiful range of colors, styles, and proportions because no two women are the same.

The goal has never been to fill a boutique.

The goal is to create a collection where women of different coloring, body shapes, lifestyles, and personalities can each find pieces that help them feel like themselves.

Every rack at Wildflower begins long before the clothes arrive.

It begins with thoughtful curation.

Because helping a woman feels seen starts with choosing well.

Recently someone shared a story with me that made me smile.

She said people began stopping her everywhere she went to compliment what she was wearing.
But what stayed with her wasn’t the compliments.

It was how she felt.

She carried herself differently.
She smiled more.
She felt confident.

That’s the part that fascinates me.

Beautiful clothing can certainly be noticed.
But confidence...
confidence is unforgettable.

One of the things I hear most often after a woman leaves Wildflower isn’t about the clothes.
It’s what happens next.

“My husband looked at me and said, ‘Wow... you look beautiful.’”
“My friends kept asking where I found my outfit.”
“I can’t believe how many compliments I received.”

I always smile when I hear those stories.
Because while the compliments are wonderful, I don’t think they’re really about the clothing.
They’re about a woman who feels confident.
A woman who feels like herself again.

When we feel beautiful, we stand a little taller. We smile a little more. We walk into a room differently.
People notice.
At Wildflower, we believe every woman deserves to feel seen.

Most women know when they love a color.
But very few have been taught how to see what a color is actually doing for them.

That is one of my favorite moments during a color analysis. When a woman suddenly sees the difference.

She sees how one color can create shadows, emphasize unevenness, or make her look tired.
And then the right color comes in.

Her eyes brighten.
Her skin softens and glows.
Her natural coloring comes forward.

Almost every time she says:
“I never knew what I was supposed to look for.”

Once you see the difference colors make, you can’t unsee it. Discovering your best colors isn’t about rules or limiting what you wear. It’s about understanding yourself more deeply and creating a wardrobe that reflects the woman you are now.

The right colors don’t change you.
They reveal you.

Have you ever pulled on a favorite outfit you’ve had for a long time and wondered why it doesn’t feel the same?
