North Collier Fire Rescue District
North Collier Fire Control & Rescue District, established January 1, 2015.
The North Collier Fire Control & Rescue District is the result of the merger of the North Naples Fire Control & Rescue District and the Big Corkscrew Island Fire Control & Rescue District.
๐ป We found a haunted house at the stationโฆ so naturally, we had to check it out.
Skeletons? ๐
Spiders? ๐ท๏ธ
Eyeballs? ๐๏ธ
Creepy decorations? ๐
Honestly, we could handle all of that.
But a laptop charging under a blanket?! ๐ฑ
A damaged charger still being used?! ๐จ
A device plugged into the wrong charger?! ๐ณ
A power tool battery charging indoors?! ๐
๐ช Nope. Too spooky.
For Fire Prevention Week, weโre continuing to Charge into Fire Safetyโข because unsafe charging practices might not look as frightening as a haunted house โ but theyโre the part that should actually scare you.
๐ Charge devices where you can keep an eye on them and away from anything that can burn.
โก Use the charging equipment recommended by the manufacturer.
๐ Stop using damaged batteries, cords or chargers.
๐ฅ Follow the manufacturerโs instructions for where and how equipment should be charged.
Keep the spooky stuff in the decorations. Safe charging is a superpower. ๐ฆธโก
๐ฅ Day 6/30 | 30 Days of Safety
10/05/2026
โก๐ฆธ Safe charging makes every superhero costume better!
For Fire Prevention Week, our North Collier Fire team is getting into the spirit of this yearโs theme: โCharge into Fire Safetyโข: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.โ ๐๐ฅ
We handed our team a charging cord and challenged them to strike their best superhero pose โ and they understood the assignment. ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ
But behind the superhero poses is an important reminder: safe charging habits are a superpower we can all use.
โก Use the charging equipment recommended by the device manufacturer.
๐ฅ Charge devices on a hard, stable surface โ not beds, couches or under pillows.
๐ Stop using batteries, chargers or cords that are damaged.
๐ Watch for warning signs like unusual heat, swelling, odor or strange noises.
No cape required. Charge safely and put your fire safety superpower to work! โก๐ฅ
Day 5/30 | 30 Days of Safety
๐ป Want to hear something scary?
โฆNothing.
Because when you press the test button on your smoke alarm, silence is the last thing you want to hear. ๐จ
For Day 4 of 30 Days of Safety, Lt. Armando Negrin with North Collier Fireโs Life Safety & Fire Prevention Division has a simple reminder: test your smoke alarms and make sure theyโre ready to alert you when you need them.
๐ฅ Test smoke alarms regularly using the test button.
๐ชซ If your alarm uses replaceable batteries and isn't working, replace them right away.
๐จ Replace smoke alarms that are 10 years old, or according to the manufacturerโs instructions.
๐ Make sure you have working smoke alarms throughout your home, including inside and outside sleeping areas and on every level.
This October, keep the scares in the decorations โ not in your fire safety. ๐

๐ Did you spot what's REALLY wrong in this kitchen?
No, it's not the skeleton cooking eyeballs. ๐๐๏ธ
Or the spiders in the cauldron. ๐ท๏ธ
Or even the witch fingers coming out of the microwave. ๐งโโ๏ธ
๐ฅ The real fire hazards are much easier to overlook.
A box and lunch bag have been left on the stovetop, and items are being stored inside the oven.
Stovetops can be accidentally turned on, and combustible items left on or too close to them can ignite. Keep towels, bags, paper products, packaging and other items away from your cooking area.
And while your oven might seem like convenient extra storage, don't use it as a cabinet. Something forgotten inside can become a serious fire hazard the next time the oven is turned on.
๐ This October, keep the spooky surprises in the decorations โ not in your kitchen.
Keep your stovetop and oven clear.

A partnership with a foundation in patient care and performance.
This week, North Collier Fire Control & Rescue District Board Chairman J. Christopher Lombardo proudly accepted a proclamation from the Naples Comprehensive Health Board of Trustees recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and clinical excellence of the men and women of North Collier Fire Rescue.
Presented by NCH Board of Trustees Chair Scott Lutgert, the proclamation celebrates the longstanding partnership between North Collier Fire and NCH and the daily work of our highly skilled North Collier Professional Firefighters and paramedics to provide lifesaving care to residents and visitors.
That partnership extends far beyond the moment a patient arrives at the hospital. It includes coordinated training, protocols, and communication, and working together to strengthen the entire continuum of care from the moment a community member calls 911, they receive treatment in the field and medic rescue unit to the specialized care in the emergency department.
The proclamation specifically recognizes our personnel for the early identification of critical cardiac and neurological emergencies, including STEMI heart attacks and large-vessel occlusion strokes, helping activate hospital treatment pathways sooner, reduce delays, and improve patient outcomes.
โI am incredibly proud to accept this recognition on behalf of the highly skilled Professional Firefighters and Paramedics who serve North Collier every day,โ Chairman Lombardo said. โTheir training, professionalism, and commitment to their patients are extraordinary. This proclamation also speaks to the strength of our partnership with NCH and what can be accomplished when our organizations work together with one goal to provide the highest level of care possible to our community.โ
Joining Chairman Lombardo and Mr. Lutgert for the presentation were NCH CEO Paul Hiltz, County Managerโs Chief of Staff Ian Barnwell, EMS Liaison Shamus Kelly, Fire Chief Eloy Ricardo, Deputy Chief Jorge Aguilera, NCFR Associate Medical Director Dr. Jeff Panozzo, Assistant Chief Ben Rohde, and Assistant Chief Tony Camps.
Thank you, NCH, for this meaningful recognition and for being our valued partner in caring for our community.
๐ His bones are plastic. Yours are not.
Before you dig out the Halloween decorations, take a few extra precautions to make sure the only thing taking a tumble this spooky season is the skeleton. ๐
Falls while carrying decorations, climbing ladders or retrieving boxes from the attic can lead to serious injuries.
๐ป Keep these fall prevention tips in mind:
๐ช Use a sturdy ladder or step stool โ never furniture, boxes or other makeshift surfaces.
๐ฆ Don't overload yourself carrying decorations. Make multiple trips so you can see where you're going and keep a hand available for the railing on stairs.
๐ Be especially careful in the attic. Only step on properly supported or decked surfaces โ drywall is not designed to support your weight.
๐ก Make sure stairs, attic spaces and work areas are well lit before you start moving boxes.
๐ซ Keep stairs and walkways clear of boxes, decorations, cords and other trip hazards as you work.
Decorating can wait a few extra minutes. A serious fall can affect you much longer.
Day 2/30 ๐ฅ | 30 Days of Safety
๐พ๐ฅ 30 Days of Safety starts with our favorite fire pup!
October is Fire Prevention Month, and we're kicking off 30 Days of Safety with Tank for National Fire Pup Day! ๐๐ถ
As Halloween approaches, Tank has a few reminders to help keep your four-legged family members safe:
๐ Keep electrical cords and decorations out of reach of curious paws and teeth.
๐ฏ๏ธ Choose flameless candles instead of open flames around pets.
๐ซ Keep Halloween candy and treats safely stored where pets can't get to them.
๐ช Keep an extra eye on pets when opening the door for trick-or-treaters.
๐พ Make sure pets are microchipped and that your contact information is up to date.
๐ Use reflective or light-up gear when walking after dark.
A little preparation can help make sure Halloween brings plenty of treats โ and no scary surprises. ๐ป๐พ
