On Friday, our Writer's Block team held a Building Blocks event. A free to attend Day camp open to all ages where our teaching staff guided participants through a variety of workshops in drawing, crafting, writing, storytelling and dance.

🎥 Writer’s Block is putting on a short film, and we’re looking for acting talent in the New London Connecticut area. If you want to help us create an incredible short film, fill out the form linked in our Linktree and submit a video of you reading the excerpt for the character of your choice or share this with someone you think would be interested. And if speaking on screen is too stressful, we’re also looking for scene extras.

“Loading…” follows the story of Jay, a high school student who is always online. They are always gaming with their group, but struggles with making meaningful real life connections. Will they be able to disconnect from their game, or are they stuck in the constant cycle of scrolling and gaming?

The Jennings School was a pillar for the New London youth and the closing of its doors was a loss to us all.

Writer’s Block Ink’s Block Print program is for ALL creatives ages 14 and up who want to develop skills in order to tell their stories and get published. Through our literary zine and writing club, participants explore the social issues impacting their lives and turn their ideas into powerful, printed work alongside curated chosen submissions from their community.

Writer’s Block Ink Summer 2026 Film Program is a 7-week day camp for young creatives 14 and up. Participants learn filmmaking from concept to final cut while using film to explore and express the social issues impacting their lives.

June 15th – August 14th

This is a paid program, with payment plans, sliding scale, and scholarship options available.
