As Pride Month comes to a close, the need for support, acceptance, and affirmation for LGBTQ+ kids and teens does not end. Your support matters more than you know.
According to The Trevor Project's 2025 national survey, 36% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting su***de in the past year. But acceptance changes that picture significantly: those living in very accepting communities attempted su***de at less than a third of the rate of those in very unaccepting ones.
For many LGBTQ+ youth, even one affirming adult can make that kind of difference, helping them feel seen, supported, and confident in who they are.
Here's how to show up as an ally:
🌈 Listen without judgment
Let them share who they are in their own words and avoid assumptions. Just listening with care and openness can have a positive impact.
🌈 Use their chosen names and pronouns
Using the name and pronouns a young person chooses shows you see them for who they are.
🌈 Challenge anti-LGBTQ+ language
Kids notice silence. Whether it's a joke, slur, or stereotype, speaking up sends a strong message that discrimination isn't tolerated.
🌈 Learn together
You don't have to have all the answers. What matters is showing you care enough to grow, stay curious, and learn alongside them.
CFA is here to support the mental health of all kids, teens, and families. Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported. Visit CTCFA.org to learn about our resources.

Juneteenth stands as a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring hope for a more just and inclusive future.
As we observe Juneteenth, we honor the strength of those who endured, celebrate the progress that has been made, and recognize the ongoing challenges that many in our country continue to face every day. It is a moment to reflect on the work still ahead to ensure that every person has the opportunity to thrive and belong.
At CFA, that means working to remove barriers to care and meeting families where they are, so support is accessible for everyone when it is needed.

What an incredible day at the CFA Fore Mental Health Golf Tournament!
Thank you to the golfers, sponsors, supporters, auction donors and bidders, volunteers, committee members, and staff who made this event a success. Your generosity and energy helped raise more than $100,000 in support of our mental health programs and services!
A highlight of the afternoon was a powerful speech shared by a CFA client turned intern with lived experience. It was a moving reminder of exactly why this work matters.
Despite a rainy forecast all week, the weather held and provided a perfect day on the course. We are deeply grateful for this community and everything you make possible.
