World’s FIRST floorless spinning coaster BAKUNAWA will be opening in 2027 at Six Flags Great Adventure! Who’s riding?!

Today Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey just unveiled BAKUNAWA, the world's tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster. Debuting in 2027, it will serve as the signature attraction of the park's transformed Boardwalk area.

Inspired by the lore of Bakunawa, the legendary sea serpent of Philippine mythology, BAKUNAWA blends cutting-edge engineering with immersive thematic design to deliver an experience unlike anything else in the world.

Standing 382 feet tall, BAKUNAWA joins an elite class of giga coasters, ranking among the five tallest roller coasters in the world while reaching speeds of 100 mph. Guests will board free-spinning, floorless coaster trains that rotate naturally throughout the ride, ensuring no two experiences are exactly alike.

Every ride aboard BAKUNAWA is different. The two-minute, 17-second journey begins with the first of three linear synchronous motor launches taking the train from 0 to 60 mph before climbing high above The Boardwalk.

Midway through the experience, riders encounter the second (and world's first) upside-down launch, accelerating from 60 to 80 mph while completely inverted before the third and final launch propels the train to 100 mph. At the top of the massive tower, the train enters a spiral into a 180-degree bank, giving riders unprecedented views of Six Flags Great Adventure below and endless sky above.

Each of the two, 20-passenger trains surfaces from the depths and speeds through the 3,163-foot course with its free-spinning, floorless vehicles rotating independently, creating a unique combination of spins, views and sensations every cycle. Riders must be at least 48” tall to ride BAKUNAWA.

Earlier today, Universal Orlando Resort has announced all fear products WITH express have been discontinued! In my opinion this should move lines more fluidly and consistently! What’s everyone’s thoughts?!

Shoreline Pier at Six Flags Great Adventure is one of the coolest areas to check out this year! It really captures the essences of summer days at the Jersey Shore! I took these photos on July 3rd while I was visiting the park! I also can’t wait to see more of Project Purple! Well done Six Flags! ☀️

Since I work today, I went to Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday for my 4th of July activities so I could celebrate Americas 250 birthday! Had a lot of fun, drinks, food and rides. While the fireworks were canceled last night due to the storm, I did see some as I was driving home! It was an awesome day despite the heat! I also took plenty of photos and video of new things I noticed including Shoreline Pier, which I will upload tomorrow!

Last Friday, I went to sixflagsgreatescape for the first time! This park is an awesome gem and has some great attractions. I also crashed the party during Coaster Con 48 to hang with some friends! I will definetly be returning in the future to ride Bobcat some more! Have you been to this park?!

Today, two coaster milestones happened. Six Flags Great Adventure reached a major milestone on Project Purple by topping of the giant spike and Universal Orlando Resort topped off their spike for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift! I am super excited to ride both when they officially open! Anyone else excited?! The project purple photos are by Matt Kaiser and the F&F photo is by someone from a Universal group.

All I can say is wow! If you haven’t ridden AireForce One at Fun Spot America in the Atlanta metro area, please do yourself a favor and get out there! It is an amazing coaster and one of if not the best RMC coaster built!
