Here at the Baby Lab, our FFR testing helps us better understand how infants process sounds and speech 🔊🗣️. FFR testing is completely non-invasive and designed to be comfortable for our little participants 👶. Many babies are happy and relaxed throughout testing, as you can see from some of the adorable baby scientists pictured here 🧸☺️! We are currently welcoming families to participate in our research here at Rutgers Newark. Please check out the link below, or feel free to DM us if you're interested in participating!

Reading with your baby is more than just sharing a story; it’s an opportunity to connect, communicate, and support their developing brain. Engaging in shared reading can help build early language skills in babies, even in infancy, while creating warm, nurturing moments between babies and their caregivers. 🧠✨
You don’t need a lengthy Storytime! Just a few minutes each day can make a significant difference! Point to pictures, make sounds, sing songs, talk about what you see, ask questions, and allow your little one to explore the book with you. 🥰📖

🔆🌻 As temperatures rise, it is important to remember that infants are more vulnerable to heat and sun exposure than adults and older children because their bodies can't regulate temperature as efficiently. A few simple precautions, such as keeping your baby in the shade, avoiding peak heat, and watching for signs of overheating, can help keep your baby safe throughout the summer.

The most important voice a baby ever hears. 🗣️❤️

Research shows that a mother’s voice is one of the most powerful tools for a baby’s language acquisition and emotional processing. Today, we honor the women providing the “data” that matters most: love, language, and late-night comfort.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the lab!
