Today Phil Yourish, our Executive Director, was at the historic Mount Pleasant Cemetery to see the monument "The First Landing Party of the Founders of Newark" at its new home at the entrance of the cemetery. Since 2016, the statue was on the campus of the NJ Performing Arts Center until new construction placed it in a storage lot with no plans for relocation.

Once again, thanks to Newark Landmarks longtime President (now retired) Elizabeth Del Tufo for making arrangements and obtaining funding for the monument to be placed at Mount Pleasant, which is a state and national landmark. A rededication ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 18th.
