Church is people, not an event. We gather weekly on Sundays at 10:30am at Aspira Academy in Newark to encourage each other to live out the way of Jesus.

You're invited! We're a church; not a building. We get together weekly on Sunday mornings at Las Americas ASPIRA Academy in Newark at 10:30am, and throughout the week in smaller communities across northern Delaware for dinner, conversations, and to love our neighbors. Every moment of our lives we try to love like Jesus. We mess that up sometimes. We're genuinely sorry. And we're committed to changing that. Help us be a part of the solution.

What You're Doing is Hard 06/18/2026

"What would it look like if we were on each other's side instead of against each other so frequently? What would happen if we said, I see what you're doing, and I acknowledge that it's hard. I'm for you."

What You're Doing is Hard If you’d rather listen than read, you can find this TFG on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. -Jesus, John 16:33 My...

Ultraprocessed Time 06/11/2026

"As you follow Jesus this summer, what does it look like to enjoy healthy time, knowing that life is a v***r, but that you are incredibly loved, and capable of incredible love?"

Ultraprocessed Time T each us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. -Psalm 90:12 The title of a recent New York Times article caught my eye today. It was a phrase used by Dr. John La Puma,...

A Couple Fish 06/04/2026

"God give us the grace and courage to just open our hands with the couple of fish that we have. And when we place them in Jesus' hands and ask how we can help, we will experience the beauty of a shared faith and the goodness of a God who multiplies our limited resources."

A Couple Fish “Bring them here to me,” he said. -Jesus, Matthew 14:18 Hey, friends. I'm back from my May break, where I had the gift of a few weeks to pause my teaching and writing responsibilities. I'd love...

Our monthly Prayer of Solidarity is a chance for us to draw our attention and compassion to groups of people who bear heavy burdens in our world. These could be tragic events, a marginalized people group, or those experiencing injustice or loss in a variety of ways. In our solidarity, we commit to compassionate understanding, shared lament and bringing these beloved ones before God in prayer.

On May 17, 2026, we stood in solidarity with those who are suffering as a result of
our war in Iran and in other war-torn lands as we prayed this prayer together--

Dear God,

We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and all people suffering from the
violence and destruction of war. We pray for healing of the bodies, minds, and
spirits of those harmed, and comfort in their grieving and fear.

We affirm that waging war is a sin, and pray for an end to the suffering that nations
cause to the human family.

We know that the people of foreign lands are like us, created in Your image. They
are mother and fathers, sister and brothers, families whom You love. We pray that
their griefs and burdens will come to an end and that they may enjoy peace and
plenty.

We affirm the sacred value of every human life, entirely rejecting the hatred and
dehumanization that fuels conflict.

Our hearts break with those enduring the tragedy of war. We lift our voices now
asking for the protection of civilians, children, and all the most vulnerable who bear
the brunt of violence.

Lord, while our leaders grapple with intricate political and security challenges,
strengthen us in Your call to be peacemakers.

Awaken Your church to be strong through the power of the Holy Spirit as active
agents of reconciliation, truth, and nonviolence in Your world.

Amen.
