This month I’ve had lots of nausea and pain. I feel like I am on the other side of it, so I am going to claim that October is my month. 💪Yesterday I got my monthly injection locally. I was also able to speak to their nutritionist.
My oncology surgeon warned ⚠️me that after my HIPEC (involving the greater omentum and stomach) significantly affects how the body processes and absorbs nutrients. Removing the greater omentum (omentumectomy) and manipulating or resecting parts of the stomach can cause unique, long-lasting nutritional challenges.
He suggested I start 🧃drink nutritional shakes like Ensure. However since my monthly injection has a side effect of affecting your blood sugar, hence the need for me to take nutritional drinks that have a glucose component to them.
Today the nutritionist told me that through Archbold’s Foundation, they provide patients, that need this supplement, absolutely FREE!
I am so thankful for this! I pay $46 for a pack that doesn’t even last me a month. That will save me
💰💰. I am very grateful to the Archbold Foundation for offering this. Thank you!!
When you donate to them you are helping support cancer patients such as myself.

This is the secondary cancer I suffer from. Luckily it was caught very very early and is successfully being treated by my primary cancers treatment 💜
🦓Steve Jobs didn't have the type of pancreatic cancer most people think of.
Jobs was diagnosed with a rare pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET) a cancer biologically different from the more common pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
His story included surgery, metastatic disease, a liver transplant, and reportedly targeted radionuclide therapy. It also highlights how much the treatment landscape for neuroendocrine tumors has evolved.

Did you know that 50% of marriages end in divorce after one of the partners gets diagnosed with cancer? So much for in sickness and health.
But not mine. Not on my watch. Probably helps that my hubby knows how crazy I can be sometimes 😆😆
Happy 28th anniversary to my sweet hubby. Thank you for supporting me in this season of our life.
Only .005% of the population of the US have my cancer type. I knew I was bore rare 🦓😆😆

I keep seeing reels about after cancer treatment & once you beat cancer. Yet there are some of us that will never stop. Treatment that is. Never beat it.
I am one of those people. Every 28 days for the rest of my life. I will never hear you are cured (unless medical advancements progress for my rare cancer). We will be on this roller coaster FOREVER.
Imagine have the flu, taking all the meds however you'll never be rid of it. Never.
People like me don't talk enough about this. How much it feels like it disrupts any healthy monumental you have gained. Waiting constantly for the other shoe to drop.
In a couple of weeks will mark my 4th year battling this awful disease. If it were only the cancer I was fighting. Not all the damage and syndromes attached that I compete against.
I find myself saying can I not just have cancer?

I’ve had a stomach bug since Monday. Let’s say it has not been fun in the slightest. I’ve lost 2.5 pounds. Can’t even drink water without a reaction. Terrible cramps & too much for social media. Wish me luck…

I think one may underestimate the stamina it takes to get ready for anything after you are sick. Fighting your own body because things used to be so easy. Like jumping into a shower and being completely ready within a half hour.
Now I have to give myself at least and hour or more to make sure not to overwhelm myself and my system. I used to be very adventurous and spontaneous, very fly by the seat of my 👖 pants. Cancer has robbed me of that.
Now I have to put fore thought in everything I do. For example I used to not carry a purse. Now I definitely have to. 💉Emergency medications, pain pump, EpiPen with Benadryl, back up battery, snacks for my blood sugar highs and lows, etc. I also have to plan what type of mobility aid I may need.
This weekend I went to one of my besties sons wedding 💕reception. I was so happy to be included in the events but to be honest it is was an energy siphon one I would happily do again and again.
Now is time for recovery mode 💪💪💪
