Youth In Nature Network
Youth In Nature Network (YINN) is a nonprofit that gets young people outside and immersed in the natural world.
We offer outdoor experiences, educator support, active stewardship opportunities, and uniquely awesome international eco-trips! YINN believes that through learning to value what the earth has to offer, we also learn to better understand and care for each other. But to value something enough to want to protect it, we must first love it. With that in mind, YINN gets young people outside in positive and meaningful experiences intended to create a sense of connection to the natural world. Our programs are meant to inspire a sense of stewardship, and empower them with the basic skills, tools and resources they need to become active environmental stewards. By promoting “Earth TLC” (Teaching, Learning & Conservation) YINN helps people come together to build stronger, healthier communities where everyone - wild and human! - has an opportunity on thrive.

Our new crew!🤩This year YINN is teaming up w the fabulous Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful to empower a new group of teen leaders! We took advantage of a Digital Learning Day to kick off things w a roadside clean up, then over lunch brainstormed activities for the 2026-2027 program year. In addition to helping GC&B events like “One for the Chipper” and “Hazardous Waste Collection Day”, these 💚students representing 10 Gwinnett high schools will strengthen project management skills, learn about careers in conservation, and enjoy kayaking, camping and more - most for the first time! 💚🥳

Hard to believe our youth who produced this video are now entering their 3rd year of college…excited to meet the new crop of high school teens starting in our leadership program this fall! 🫨💚
Y4EA Crayfish Creek Site Visit 2024 Students from public high schools across Gwinnett County (Georgia) enjoyed a unique summer work study program called "Youth for Environmental Action" (Y4EA)....
“River Strong” kept us cool this 💙💪🏽💦
Unfortunately our River clean up got rained out today, BUT it gives us time to share memories of a sunnier day 4 years ago! 😎 Most of these smiling faces have stayed in touch with us while going on to new adventures…what we love most about our programs is they allow time to build meaningful relationships w young people (instead of one-time activities). It’s an honor and a joy to be part of their 💚journey, even if just for a little while…💙🤩 Interested in learning more about our opportunities? Check us out at www.YouthInNature.net

YINN’s first “Teachers In The Wild” adventure was a wild success! ✅🐸🥳 This is professional development for educators as we help them connect an amazing and unique educational journey to their teaching goals back in the classroom. In addition to being immersed in the astonishing biodiversity of Costa Rica, we traveled with local guides and scientists to a very remote community where we planted native trees around a school yard. It felt really good to be part of a joyful community effort to forward the ancient ways of caring for the rainforest to young kids. 💚

The teens in this video clip from 2023 have gotten their braces off, are in college now, stay too busy growing up too fast…and most still drop it all to come kayaking with us. Immersing young people in nature as a segue to environmental stewardship is what we do - you protect what you love, right? ✅💙

THIS...this was the kind of adventure that bonds friendships, makes excellent memories, and refuels us YINN leaders! 💙Awesome super crazy fun running Class II rapids with "kids" for the first time ever....thanks to our guides Dustin Miller and Sami McKinney we made it safely, learned some cool paddling tricks, and had FUN!! 🤩YINN's goal is to help young people make positive emotional connections to nature...we all gave this adventure 100% top ratings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Last day of Environmental Club for this school year…we wrapped it up by finishing our FROG habitat! 🥳 While we were working on it, a Phoebe did several fly-bys and told us to hurry….it may be more of a fancy bird bath until we add some aquatic plants and the frogs move in! 🐸✅

Part of what we do is empower students by helping fund their visions. It was really cool to be recognized at Brookwood's FFA (Future Farmers of America) event tonight - even cooler to see the projects we helped fund come to life! It really is a joy to support these teachers and their amazing students. YAY!! 🤩💚✅
