Meet Assembly Changemaker, Cosette Lambourne Woods! 🌿
Through her new venture, Joyful Living Wellness, Cosette brings together leadership, mindfulness, breathwork, and holistic wellness to help people create meaningful change from the inside out.
With 25+ years of experience in leadership, coaching, and business development, she’s now blending that experience with practices like meditation, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and sound therapy to help people navigate stress and change with greater clarity and intention.
At the heart of her work is a simple idea: when we’re more connected to ourselves, we show up differently everywhere else — creating a ripple effect through our work, relationships, and communities.
We’re grateful to have Cosette’s energy and insight in the Assembly community. 💫

New art has landed at Assembly. 🎨
Artists in Residence: Past and Present, presented by The Contemporary Arts Network Foundation, brings together the work of Wil Swink, MarieAnn Fluker, and Rain Spann — celebrating the artists who have shaped CAN’s Artist in Residence program and the creative community around it.
The exhibition marks a new chapter as Wil joins CAN as the 2026/2027 Artist in Residence, while MarieAnn and Rain continue their work with CAN in new roles.
✨ Explore the work throughout the Assembly building — all for purchase now through the end of the year!

What do we carry with us, and how does it shape what we create?
Come create, reflect, and make space for what’s beneath the surface.
Led by Kim McCoy, MS, ATR-P, participants will explore how our lived experiences show up in our art through drawing, collage, and collective creation, reflecting on what we carry, what we keep, and what we leave in community.
🗓 Tuesday, September 29
⏰ 6 PM
📍 Assembly | 400 Granby Street, Norfolk
Open to the public. No art experience necessary. Pre-registration required.
Please note: This workshop offers a creative, reflective experience with therapeutic benefits and is not a clinical therapy session.

Style is just the beginning. 👕✨
Meet Kendall Lawson, founder of and one of Assembly’s newest Changemakers in Residence. Through Three Scooops Fashion House, Kendall is blending fashion, entrepreneurship, and community impact to create opportunities far beyond the sewing machine.
From introducing students to careers in fashion and entrepreneurship, to hosting sustainable design workshops, mentoring student athletes, designing merchandise for WNBA All-Star Weekend, and launching King Athletawear, Kendall is making an impact across the 757 and beyond.
His work proves fashion is more than what you wear — it’s a platform for creativity, confidence, and community. Welcome to the Assembly community, Kendall. We’re excited to see what’s next! 🧵

Nothing says summer like good food, sunshine, and great company on the rooftop.☀️🍔
We had an amazing time kicking off the summer season — Chef David Hannah (The Neighborhood Pop-Up) on the grill, Joysicles Gourmet Pops keeping us cool, and the whole Assembly crew soaking up a beautiful day. Plus vibes by Mike Milbourn and La Primavera Strings and a warm welcome to our newest Changemakers in Residence!
Thanks to everyone who joined us! More summer nights like this, please.
We caught up with Harnish Marwadi, Structural Inspector at Lynch Mykins now IMEG and an Assembly member for over two years. 🏗️
Right now, he's excited about a new multi-story apartment project in St. Paul’s, along with work supporting Hampton University and ODU.
Off the clock, you'll find him grabbing a bite at Granby Street Pizza, La Patrona Taqueria, or Saffron Indian Bistro. His favorite thing about Norfolk is the people. He loves that the city is a true melting pot, bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences from all over the world.
