Faith in Action - Bloomington/Normal
Faith in Action is an interfaith non-profit ministry. Volunteers provide transportation rides at no charge to area seniors.
Volunteers also provide Friendly Visits & Calls and Shopping. These services allow seniors to remain in their own home. Senior must be 60 or older and live independently. There are no income guidelines to meet. Service areas are Bloomington, Normal, Downs, Heyworth, Hudson, Towanda, Chenoa, Ellsworth, Leroy and Lexington. Our next board member spotlight is Emily Buhrow!
Emily Buhrow started volunteering for Faith in Action in 2019; now, as the President-Elect of the Faith in Action board, she is passionate about serving her community and helping others make meaningful connections. She also works as a real estate agent, volunteers with animal rescue organizations, and coaches junior high basketball. Through these roles, she enjoys building relationships, supporting those in need, and making a positive impact both on and off the court. Outside of work and volunteering, she loves spending time with her wife and toddler, walking her dogs, and watching sports.

Our next board member spotlight is Nick Hibbs!
Nick Hibbs joined the Faith in Action Board of Directors in December 2025. He owns Hometown Senior Care Advisors, which is a service that helps families find care for their seniors, either in their home or in senior living facility. He was born and raised in Pontiac, IL, and is a graduate of Illinois State University. As a Board Member, he is on the Fund Development Committee and is active at our events throughout the year. Outside of work, Nick enjoys watching sporting events, attending happy hours, and relaxing with his family. He has two sons, ages 14 and 8, who keep him busy as well.
