Normal's High School Summer Theatre program began in 1972. The program is open to incoming freshmen through graduating seniors at any area high school.
The Town of Normal's High School Summer Theatre program, an annual production for those in Grades 9-12 (incl the summer before & after), performed at Connie Link Amphitheatre. Since its inception, thousands of local students have taken part in summer productions as cast members, crew, musicians and more. There is no fee to participate. Performances are held each summer at Connie Link Amphitheatre.
The countdown is on! Come see The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee performed by the Normal Summer High School Theatre Program. These talented students from across McLean County have been training all summer to bring this hilarious, heartwarming musical to life. Bring a lawn chair and join us at Connie Link Amphitheatre! Performances begin Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and run through Sunday. 🎭
The contrast between the dramatic Rocky music and the “seriousness” of a spelling bee is what makes the joke land while still building excitement for the show.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opens tonight at 7:30pm at Connie Link Amphitheatre, and it is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. So much talent on that stage - you don't want to miss this one.
