Normal West High School

Thanks to the IHSA and their partnership with supporting our student-athletes. Congrats to Tanner on the scholarship awarded at the IHSA recognition luncheon today!

The Normal West Wind Ensemble is wrapping up its performance tour of Los Angeles, including a recording session in Disney Studios, a concert at Disneyland, and a performance in the Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Students also visited the ocean at Santa Monica Pier, the end of Route 66, and Grand Central Market, while bringing exciting performances to a California audience!

Grant funds (Acorn Grants by the Bloomington-Normal Garden Club) help grow student interest in gardening! Students were able to get into the routine of checking on their seedlings and propagated plants daily, watering them, and taking pride in taking them home to plant. Several students even took home house plants to care for over the summer, and a few even took the care to help staff with plants throughout the school year that were not doing so well in an effort to bring those plants back to a healthy state.

Summer is still an awesome time for Normal West: local basketball shootouts for our teams and showcase band concert by our band prior to their LA trip.
