💡 Headaches? There’s More Than One Way to Find Relief. 💡

After today’s headache trivia, I wanted to share another tool I use here at A.B. Wellness…

✨ InLight Light Therapy

Light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that can be a great addition to your wellness plan when muscle tension, stress, or inflammation are contributing to headaches.

I offer:

🔴🔵 InLight Combination Red & Blue Light Therapy
• Helps calm inflammation
• Supports healthy circulation
• Promotes tissue healing and recovery
• Helps reduce muscle tension that can contribute to headaches and neck pain

🟢 Green Light Therapy
Green light has been gaining attention for its potential to:
• Help reduce the frequency and intensity of migraines for some people
• Calm the nervous system
• Encourage relaxation
• Reduce light sensitivity in some migraine sufferers

Many of my clients enjoy adding light therapy to their massage sessions, especially when they’re dealing with chronic headaches, tight neck and shoulder muscles, TMJ discomfort, or high stress levels.

Every headache is different, which is why I believe in finding the combination of treatments that works best for your body.

💬 Have you ever tried light therapy for headaches or migraines?

👇 Tell me in the comments:
💚 “I’ve tried it!”
💙 “I’d love to learn more!”
🤍 “This is my first time hearing about it!”

🧠 Wellness Wednesday Answer! 🧠

Did you guess D️⃣ ALL OF THE ABOVE?

If so… you were right! 🎉

The upper trapezius, sternocleidomastoid (SCM), and temporalis muscles are all common contributors to headaches. When these muscles become tight or develop trigger points, they can refer pain into your head, temples, behind your eyes, jaw, and even create symptoms that feel like sinus headaches.

💥 Upper Trapezius: Often tight from stress, poor posture, or spending too much time looking at a computer or phone.

💥 SCM (Sternocleidomastoid): One of the biggest “hidden” headache muscles. It can cause pain around the forehead, eyes, temples, ears, and even contribute to dizziness or a feeling of sinus pressure.

💥 Temporalis: Commonly associated with jaw clenching, teeth grinding (especially at night), and TMJ issues, often causing pain at the temples.

The good news? Many muscle-related headaches can improve by addressing the cause rather than just masking the pain.

✔️ Improve your posture.
✔️ Take breaks from looking down at your phone or computer.
✔️ Stretch regularly.
✔️ Manage stress.
✔️ Stay hydrated.
✔️ Address muscle tension before it becomes a headache.

Massage therapy, corrective exercise, and targeted treatment can often make a huge difference when these muscles are the source of your pain.

💬 Which area gives you the most trouble?
🔹 Neck & shoulders
🔹 Temples
🔹 Jaw
🔹 Back of the head

Let me know in the comments—I may share some simple stretches or self-care tips for the area that gets the most votes! 💚

🥗 Take Care Tuesday: Fuel Your Body, Fuel Your Life! 🥗

Did you know your body is constantly rebuilding and repairing itself? The foods you eat today become the building blocks for your muscles, joints, skin, immune system, and even your hormones.

✨ Food isn’t just about calories—it’s information for your body.

Let’s have some fun…

Which meal do you struggle with the most? 🤔

🥞 A. Breakfast – I usually skip it.
🥪 B. Lunch – I’m too busy and grab whatever I can.
🍝 C. Dinner – By the end of the day I’m too tired to cook.
🍪 D. Snacks – This is where I struggle the most!

💚 No judgment here! We all have areas we can improve.

Remember, you don’t have to eat perfectly to become healthier. Small, consistent changes add up over time.

👇 Comment with A, B, C, or D! I’d love to know where you struggle most so I can share tips to help in future posts.

🌿 Move Better Monday 🌿

How are you feeling as you start a new week?

Take a moment and check in with your body…

⬜ My neck and shoulders are already tight.
⬜ My low back is bothering me.
⬜ I woke up with a headache.
⬜ I’m feeling stressed and exhausted.
⬜ I actually feel pretty good today!

Here’s your Monday reminder:

Pain doesn’t usually show up overnight—it often builds from days, weeks, or even months of stress, poor posture, repetitive movements, lack of recovery, or simply putting everyone else before yourself.

The good news? Small, consistent habits can make a huge difference.

✨ Get up and move every hour.
💧 Stay hydrated.
🧘 Stretch for just 5 minutes.
🥗 Fuel your body with nutritious foods.
😴 Prioritize quality sleep.
💆‍♀️ And don’t wait until you’re in pain to take care of yourself.

Your body is the only place you have to live. Treat it with the same care you give to everyone else.

✨ Self-Care Saturday: Healing Isn’t Just One Thing ✨

One of the questions I get asked the most is…

“What’s the best thing I can do to feel better?”

The truth is…there usually isn’t just ONE thing.

Think of your body like a puzzle. 🧩 Every piece matters.

💪 Movement & Corrective Exercise helps improve mobility, strengthen weak muscles, and keep your body moving the way it was designed to.

🥗 Nutrition gives your body the fuel and building blocks it needs to reduce inflammation, repair tissues, and support energy from the inside out.

💆‍♀️ Massage Therapy helps decrease muscle tension, improve circulation, calm the nervous system, and restore balance so your body can move and heal more efficiently.

Each one is powerful on its own…

✨ But together? That’s where the magic happens.

That’s why I’ve spent the last 16+ years continuing my education—not just in massage, but also becoming a Certified Nutrition & Wellness Coach and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. My goal has always been to help you address the why behind your pain, not just provide temporary relief.

Let’s see where you’re starting!

Which area do you feel needs the most attention right now?

🧘 More movement & flexibility
🥗 Better nutrition & healthy habits
💆 Less pain & muscle tension
❤️ Honestly…all of the above!

Comment below with your answer! 👇 I’d love to know where you’re starting your wellness journey.
