Maritime Rowing Club – Norwalk, CT, is dedicated to competitive and recreational rowing for all ages and abilities. We’re based on the scenic Norwalk River, rowing both sweep and sculling shells. Maritime Rowing Club is a team-oriented rowing club where all members work together to provide an enjoyable rowing experience for all. Since 1996, Maritime Rowing Club has offered rowing classes for all ages and skill levels, from Middle School Learn-to-Row to Masters competitive racing. In addition to our junior and adult competitive rowing programs, Maritime offers learn-to-row classes, winter training, and summer camps for juniors. Maritime Rowing Club is home to the MRC competitive team, New Canaan Crew, the MRC High School and Middle School Crew. Our masters rowing program includes sweep and sculling opportunities, flexible schedules, and the opportunity to compete at local, regional and national regattas. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and have fun!
September 2026 marks Maritime Rowing Club’s 30 year anniversary. Three decades of service, dedication and perseverance has made MRC the powerhouse that it is today.
2026 was a hugely successful year for our entire squad, the four medals that our squad brought home from nationals is just a glimpse into the success of the Maritime legacy.
This club has become home to many hundreds of athletes through the decades; developing athletes to the best of their ability and giving them a place to truly belong.

The U.S. men’s eight battled on home waters in the Men’s Eight A Final, staying in the hunt through the first half of the race as the Americans and the Netherlands raced nearly even.
The Americans crossed in fifth in 5:22.32.

Over the weekend, Maritime took home a whopping 17 gold medals 🥇, 11 silver 🥈, and 5 Bronze 🥉.

In celebration of Earth Day (Wednesday April 22nd) MRC athletes volunteered time out of their Saturday to clean our river. 🌎
A lot of trash was removed from Oyster Shell Park, many thanks to our volunteers and their hard work!
