LGBTQ+ professionals are welcome to join the CTGLC After Hours Mixer on Wednesday, and parents and caregivers of q***r youth are encouraged to attend our resource fair and mixer event on Saturday!

We are so excited to announce our 2026 Gala Honoree, Andraya Yearwood!

Andraya Yearwood made history as a teenager in Cromwell, Connecticut, when she stood her ground for the right to run track as a Black transgender girl. Facing national scrutiny, lawsuits, and relentless attacks, Andraya never backed down, becoming a powerful voice for trans youth in sports nationwide. Today, she continues that work as a scholar and advocate, holding degrees from North Carolina Central University and Columbia University, and currently working in higher education administration supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff.

Come celebrate Andraya and support TCC at our annual gala on Saturday, October 17 at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. Ticket link in bio!

CTGLC After Hours Networking Mixer
Wed. Sept. 23rd, 5:30-7:30pm, in person at 650 West Ave, Norwalk CT.

Q***r professionals, business owners, and entrepreneurs are welcome to this after hours networking mixer, co-sponsored by Circle Care Center and Triangle Community Center. The Connecticut Gay & Le***an Chamber (CTGLC) fosters a more inclusive and vibrant economy in Connecticut by creating, identifying, and enhancing business opportunities for LGBTQ+ and LGBTQ+ allied organizations. The CTGLC promotes business networking among our members and the wider community, fostering the exchange of information, ideas, contacts, and offerings, ultimately fortifying and expanding our businesses and our community. Light refreshments will be served.

Are you aware... of Bis*xual+ Awareness Week??? Recognized each year September 16th-23rd!

With cooler weather rolling in and kids back to school, germs are in the air and we need your help to keep our community safe and ensure there are no interruptions to TCC's programs and services. Please stay home if you are feeling sick or have tested positive for Covid or another communicable illness.

❤ Care coordination appointments can be rescheduled or held via telephone or video call.
❤ We are happy to accommodate curbside pickup for folks picking up items from the space.
❤ Free N95 masks and hand sanitizer are available for folks to use in the space.
❤ TCC employs three air purifiers with HEPA filters 24/7 in the space year round.
❤ We use contact tracing for events to notify folks if they have been exposed.

If you have been exposed or have a sick loved one at home, please take all precautions to reduce the spread, including testing daily, masking for the entirety of your visit, and social distancing while at TCC. Thank you!

Latine & Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized each year September 15 to October 15. Do you know these LGBTQIA+ Latine & Hispanic leaders?

Top left: Ray Navarro, an activist and artist who co-founded the Latino Caucus of the organization ACT UP. He used videography as a tool for protest, documenting many important demonstrations amidst the AIDS crisis.

Top right: Chavela Vargas, a singer who recorded more than 70 albums throughout her life. Though she did not officially publicly come out until the age of 81 in her autobiography, she was always still herself - including singing love songs written from men to women and not changing the pronouns.

Bottom left: Pedro Zamora, an activist and one of the first openly gay men living with AIDS to appear on television, in MTV’s "The Real World: San Francisco" in 1993. He continued to help normalize and humanize what living with HIV & AIDS looked like throughout his life, including testifying before Congress.

Bottom right: Sylvia Rivera, best known for partaking in the Stonewall Riots when she was just 17 years old. Later in 1971, she and Marsha P. Johnson created the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) to help care for young trans and q***r people in NYC, many of whom engaged in survival s*x work.
