Maraca decorating and trivia night were hits as we wrapped up the month of September! In the midst of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, our children’s librarian Michelle got some kiddos together to decorate their own maracas and dance along to some traditional Spanish songs! Our trivia night teams were neck and neck until the patron team pulled out all their knowledge in the last category, but we all still had a blast! Our inaugural Halloween Movie series!

October 3rd - Rocky Horror Picture Show
October 10th - Trick R Treat
October 17th - Scream
October 24th - Obsession

Dressing up is encouraged for any and all movie showings, though we ask that you refrain from bringing props to Rocky Horror (callouts welcome, however)! Bring a friend, bring some snacks, and come enjoy free scary movies at the SoNo Library!

Please note: All of the movies in this series are R-Rated, viewer discretion is advised! Children are not allowed, per movie screening guidelines, unless accompanied for the whole film by a parent or guardian.

🚧❗️The roof! The roof! The roof is under construction! ❗️🚧

Please be advised that our roof is undergoing a replacement over the next few weeks and that means construction noise in the library and extra safety precautions in the parking lot! Our construction crew has designated space for their vehicles and dumpster (indicated by the orange cones), but the rest of the parking lot is available to patrons! Extra parking is available on the street directly in front of the library and post office, across the street at C-Town Grocery, or we might suggest enjoying the fall weather and walking to the library if you can! We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and our Branch manager, Marcus, or building services manager, Rich, are happy to answer your questions should you have any! Thank you for supporting the library! We look forward to seeing you at SoNo!

What a wand-erful time we had yesterday making wands with creativegirlstudios ! We had aspiring witches and wizards of all ages participating (including our own children’s librarian, Michelle, and programming librarian, Tammy)! Everyone worked diligently to sand, paint, and decorate their wands just in time for Halloween and the spooky season!
