Ahead of subglow at Open Ground this Saturday April 11, founder CCL opens their record bag to share 9 records that exemplify the spirit of subglow – a sound that is multidimensional, experimental psychedelic and sensual as it is rooted in the foundations of dub and sub-heavy pressure.

Inside are beloved subglow classics attendees will recognise, and new favourites they are excited to spin at FREIFELD.

Expect dub, dubstep, jungle, live instrumentation, jazz, techno, house…and more.

Next up… 👀
subglow at Open Ground
April 11

From CCL

“Open Ground offers a unique opportunity for subglow to thrive on what many have called the most beautiful sound system in the world, and offer a new form of intention via travel to Wuppertal. This collaboration means an exchange, and beckoning of a new spirit that is both ephemeral and enduring long after the dance is concluded– do not miss it.”

subglow functions as an organism that flourishes in the spirit of ritual and collective intention, named by CCL in Berlin, at its spiritual home, Ohm. subglow is rooted in a deep love for soundsystem culture in all its forms – all music that makes subs glow.

subglow thrives….
when subs are worshipped, central, glowing
when femmes, q***r people and nerds who love to get freaky dance in the front
where the dance is sacred while wry smiles are exchanged
where playfulness, psychedelia and experimentation run freely
where storytelling, intention, respect and reverie for this culture are held dear

Expect dub, dubstep, jungle, live instrumentation, jazz, techno, house…and more.

Expect a night of juxtapositions – darkness and lightness, futurism and deep acknowledgement of foundations, eclecticism and ceremony. Expectations are challenged, and spirits thrive.
