That’s not a tagline. It’s just how the ranch works.

Ivey Ranch has been around since 1981, and from the very beginning the idea was the same: build something where people with and without disabilities are part of the same community — not separated by it.

Two members of the Ranch who illustrate these qualities on a daily basis!

Amylynn joined us two years ago and we appreciate how she jumps in to help with anything that needs to be done.  Her kindness and gentle spirit are mirrored in Ardmore, our 25 year old Gypsy Vanner, which explains their sweet connection.  Thank you for being part of our community! 🐴💚

Every milestone, every smile, and every breakthrough at Ivey Ranch starts with a story -  and we want to hear yours.

This year, those stories shine brighter than ever as Ivey Ranch celebrates 45 years!

In honor of this incredible milestone, we are celebrating our Sapphire Anniversary. Throughout the year, you’ll see touches of sapphire, a gemstone that represents wisdom, loyalty, and strength. These are qualities we see every day in our participants, families, horses, volunteers, and staff, and they reflect the lasting impact Ivey Ranch has built over nearly half a century.

The Hoedown is our most important fundraiser of the year. The work we have done - and the work still ahead - is only possible because of the generosity of our community. Your support helps us sustain and grow programs that serve children and adults with disabilities and other special needs.

As we celebrate where we’ve been and look toward the future, we invite you to be a part of our next chapter at the 45th Anniversary Sapphire Hoedown.

🎟️ Get Your Tickets: Join us for an unforgettable evening of community, celebration, and purpose.

💫 Become a Sponsor: Partner with us as a business or individual and directly support the programs and services that make a difference every day.

🎙️ Share Your Story: Has Ivey Ranch touched your life or the life of someone you love?  We want to hear your story!

To celebrate 45 years, we’re giving away 5 pairs of upgraded Hoedown tickets. One story will be selected to receive two VIP tickets, along with the opportunity to share their Ivey Ranch journey live on stage at the Hoedown. Four additional storytellers will receive two complimentary General Admission tickets. 🤠

Submit your stories to [email protected] by Friday, September 25.

For 45 years, Ivey Ranch has been built on compassion, dedication, and community.  Help us celebrate the stories that will carry Ivey Ranch into the next 45 years.

We can’t wait to celebrate this sapphire milestone with you!  💙🐴💚

🌈 Staff Spotlight! ☀️

Meet Christina Paad, our Programs Care Manager, who has been an integral member of the team since 2019.  She continues a tradition of supporting our special needs through care and high impact practices that started in 1981.

“My passion for working with kids began over 20 years ago as a nanny and daycare provider.  After graduating from Cal State San Marcos with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, I began volunteering at Ivey Ranch.  I jumped into everything – from Grooming Gang and Barn Buddies to camp, PATH workshops, and tours.

That dedication turned into a career.  I was hired as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor and in 2019, I transitioned to our School-Age Program, soon becoming the Lead teacher.  Looking to expand our impact, I designed and began our Adul Day Program, which launched in summer of 2023.

Today, I manage both of our on-site care programs.  To best serve our community, I continually expand my knowledge through advanced training in Applied Behavior Analysis, emergency preparedness, and specialized medical conditions.  You may also find me assisting with the planning of our Annual Western Hoedown or subbing for Tailored Day Services.

I absolutely love what I do and am so grateful to be part of this wonderful community!”

🎉 Where It All Began: Celebrate 45 Years at Our Annual Western Hoedown! 🎉

Take a look at this! This is the very first invitation that started it all 45 years ago. Looking back at the original invitation to the launch of Ivey Ranch, it’s incredible to see how a beautiful idea grew into the bustling ranch we know and love today.

Over nearly half a century, so much has changed around the ranch, but the heart, dedication, and life-changing impact of Ivey Ranch have only grown stronger.

We are proud of our history and so grateful for the that has been part of our journey.

Now, 45 years later, we hope you’ll help us celebrate this incredible milestone—and help carry our mission forward—by joining us at our Annual Western Hoedown! 🤠

🌞 Cooler temps aren't the only thing returning to Oceanside tomorrow. Session #5 lessons start in the morning and we are so excited to see our riders and volunteers again! 🎉

We are also looking forward to seeing new faces at our Volunteer Orientation at 1PM. 🐴💚🐈

As a reminder, please be sure to wear pants, closed toed shoes, and bring your refillable water bottle. We know it is hot but we want everyone to be safe.

Every story shares the impact Ivey Ranch has on our community. Today, we're sharing Debbie George's story, a longtime volunteer whose work and dedication are part of why we've been able to give our community 45 years of impact.

A welcome cool down and light rain today, courtesy of a hurricane in the eastern Pacific. Yesterday’s view from the Luis Rodriguez Memorial Bench allowed for some solitude and quiet reflection as those outer bands of clouds appeared.

The herd has enjoyed their vacation and we are grateful for our Barn Buddies and Grooming Gang volunteers during this time. But we are looking forward to seeing our riders return next Saturday, September 12th! 🌈🐴💚
