A picturesque facility boasting some of the best trail riding in North County, Stepp Stables offers boarding, training, and lessons. We are situated just inside the San Luis Rey gate off Vandegrift Blvd. Facilities include three brand new laser leveled arenas, three round pens, miles of scenic trail riding, 24 x 24 pens with shelters, an automatic fly system, auto waterers, turnouts, pasture boarding, free trailer storage, a hot walker, wash racks and much more. Offered to active duty military and their guests as well as retired military, their dependents, MCCS, and DoD employees only. Our friendly staff and nationally ranked trainers/instructors can guide you and your horse to achieve all levels of horsemanship goals at competitive pricing. A welcoming and diverse group of boarders and patrons make this a facility one that invites its guests to spend time socializing and spending a relaxing day with their horses and friends. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our Stepp Stables, effective February 28, 2027.
This was not an easy decision. After careful evaluation, leadership has decided to discontinue operations so resources can be redirected toward recreational and community programs that better meet the evolving needs of the Camp Pendleton community.
We know the Stables have created lasting memories for many Marines, families, and guests over the years, and we are sincerely grateful for your support and patronage.
