Did a little trail cleanup between Keystone Trail at Q St. and along the big Papio trail . There’s still lots of work to be done. If anybody wants to help, we have plenty of trash bags and reusable gloves. Friends Jek and Nancy Kelly were cleaning up the L St. overpass Keystone Trail.

There is quite a bit of trash and debris along the trail system. If you are inclined to picked some of it up....lot's of styrofoam, cups, and plastic bottles, be aware that the water had possible contamination and the river banks are very unstable due to the saturation. There are many stormwater grates that are clogged with debris & trash. If you are out there helping clear or clean up, send some before & after pictures. ❤🌎‼. If you need some reusable gloves and bags, message us!

What a fantastic morning for a Flash Trash Mob at Spring Lake Park! 13 volunteers picked up 20 bags of litter, trash, a discarded tent, a tire, and a variety of other things. The BBP is the third group to help clean up the park in 4 weeks (unless rain prevented others). We can really tell the difference in our work from 3 years ago to today plus other illegal dumping mitigation. Our volunteers get into the weeds, so to speak and truly get stuff out of the environment and either into recycling or the trash. Thanks to Don Preister from https://www.greenbellevue.org/ for helping out today! We also had a volunteer & his wife from one of our private events at Bishop Business. AND... the kiddos found cool stuff. Thank you Volunteers!!! And thanks to Aaron, from City of Omaha Parks & Recreation who showed up as I was back on site to pick up and dispose of the bags of trash. Super appreciate him for taking what I hadn't loaded up yet, even though we hadn't prearranged. Volunteers Rock!😍🌎♻️✅

A mighty crew did great work today along the North Omaha Trail. Our group included someone from Papillion, Minne Lusa Neighborhood, Benson and Central Omaha. Four of us collected 6 bags of litter and a bucket of recycling. The area between Pratt and Spaulding looks amazing! (Trail side anyway:) Thanks to Bridget, Kathy, Marisol and yours truly, we made an impact on the environment in the area.! Trail users appreciated our work! Yes, we found food items that had been there awhile.

Local company plans to keep orange bag recycling program alive in Omaha 09/29/2026

We have extra orange bags to give away to anyone who shows up to a Flash Trash Mob. They are between 10-13 gal. We love First Star Recycling.

Local company plans to keep orange bag recycling program alive in Omaha Items like foam containers and plastic mailers normally end up in the landfill because most recycling plants cannot process them.

What a great crew of volunteers this morning. Big thanks to Lea, Bridget, KaNia, Brian, Geri, Ricky, Anna, Marta, Paula, Howard - host and yours truly. We were good neighbors today and picked up Wal-Mart parking as well as the surrounding area and transit stops. We collected 11 bags of litter & trash plus one bag of recycling. The area looked amazing when we were finished.
It is always encouraging when we have high school students who are working on a goal of joining the National Honor Society! ❤🌎♻️‼️
