Earlier this month, members of the Husker Bass Anglers fishing club and spinal cord injury rehabilitation alum, Dustin Hunt, coordinated with QLI’s Adaptive Sports Program to host a catch and release bass fishing tournament at QLI’s lake.
QLI Summit resident, “Catfish” Cory Kreikemeier, reeled in a 3.1-pound largemouth bass that landed him the grand prize.
It was a fantastic way to wrap up the summer fishing season at QLI, and we’d like to thank everyone who made it such a success!

535 days. One unforgettable step forward.
After a life-changing injury, Matthew embraced his long road of recovery with incredible determination, hard work, and the unwavering support of the people he loves most. Even through the pain, Matthew kept pushing forward.
His wife, Carissa, and son, Theo, were a driving force throughout his rehabilitation. His sister, Cassie, and his entire family stood beside him every step of the way.
Then, 535 days after his injury, Matthew took his first steps.
Today, Matthew is back home in California with his family, still working hard and continuing to move forward.
