The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver of a black Jeep Wrangler who chased three children on electric dirt bikes and ran over a 14-year-old near 205th and Harrison.

Investigators say the driver honked at the kids, then chased them to a nearby field. Skid marks at the scene suggest the children jumped a curb to escape. The teen was run over.

"Just because you observe someone committing a traffic infraction is not justification to go off and allow your anger to get the best of you and engage in an act of vigilantism," Douglas County Sheriff's Office Captain Nate Kovarik said.

If the driver is found, felony charges are likely. Investigators are reviewing Flock camera footage from the area.

Local bike meet 😂

Absolutely love riding this Segway Xaber 300. The suspension and power delivery are impressive!

At least they’re not inside playing Fortnite 🤷🏼‍♂️
