Its Pie-ka not Pee-ka
And its related to rabbits not rodents.
This cute little fuzzbutt is the American Pika. With thick fur adapted to blend into the rocky alpine terrain, and a body temperature of 104°f (40°c), they're one of the toughest animals in North America.

The Watchful Eye
Male Elk can stand about 5 ft (1.5 meters) tall at the shoulder so I guess this bush was about 6 ft (just under 2 meters) give or take. We were waiting for this guy to show himself in the meadow below when he decided to see what was happening on the other side of the foliage.

Waiting out the rain
A juvenile ruby-throated hummingbird perches on a small branch, resting patiently as it waits for the rain to pass. Those tiny feet are made for perching, not walking or hopping—so when they’re not gripping a branch, they simply slide along a surface.

Optical Illusion
When looking down into water, the water bends light so a fish can seem closer to the surface and further forward than it actually is.To compensate for this, a heron will tilt its head at different angles to reduce glare. When it strikes, it doesn't aim at the fish it sees, aims slightly below and behind the target to actually hit the fish.
