Good news!!! TakeRoot has received a grant through Nebraska’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) through the Department of Health and Human Services, to purchase a refrigerated van!
We still need to add refrigeration to our newly purchased van and a TakeRoot logo, but once that is completed, we are excited to put it to work🥳
This new van will help us pick up fresh produce, eggs, dairy and proteins from rural Nebraska farms and deliver it directly to rural schools. It’s a step toward strengthening connections between local farmers and schools, to benefit the health of our community.

Cheers to building a stronger local food system and investing in the health and future of Nebraska😎
