One year ago, Austin Hoops joined the Lamp Rynearson team, and we are so glad he did. From tackling the Lincoln Public Schools site at Yankee Hill to surviving a team paintball outing in his first few weeks on the job, Austin has brought skill, heart, and a great sense of humor to everything he does. It's Parks and Recreation Month, and this week we're celebrating a project that turned a vacated school campus into a community destination!

Lamp Rynearson partnered with the City of Roeland Park's Parks Committee to bring their master plan for R Park to life. What was once an empty 5.4-acre lot is now a gathering place for the community's 6,800 residents, featuring a pavilion with a fireplace, grill, and performance stage, pergolas, unisex restrooms, a turf youth soccer field, accessible pathways, and an all-inclusive playground for kids of every ability.

Years of planning and collaboration went into this one, and it shows. This is what happens when a community shows up for its residents.
