A month in, you know exactly which two or three kids you'll be supporting all year. You always do.
Cub Guide is free for up to 3 students. Log from your phone, tie every entry to whatever you tried, and let it compile itself before anyone asks you for it.
No card, no setup call π https://cubbehaviorguide.com/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
Month one is done. You survived it.
If you started logging back in week one, you can pull up any of your kids right now and see the whole month at once, an actual shape with a direction to it.
Which beats spending October arguing about whether things feel better. π
Which version of this is the real one?
The doc the counselor updated Tuesday. The spreadsheet the para keeps on her phone. The notes in the SIS. The email thread where three people corrected each other and nobody said which correction stuck.
Then a parent asks what you've been doing for their kid, and you're reconciling four sources before you can open your mouth. One record, one place, everybody looking at the same thing.
You're not going to log every incident. Stop trying.
A daily rating on three targeted skills, done every single day, will tell you more by Halloween than the heroic detailed log you'll abandon around October 10th. Trends need repetition more than they need detail.
Pick the smallest version you'll actually keep doing. π‘
The quietest win in a support team's week is when nobody has to chase anybody.
No hallway "hey, do you have a second." No message asking a para to come down and explain the morning. No waiting until Monday to find out.
Everyone who needed the picture already had it. That's forty minutes back in your Tuesday. π

Look at your desk.
The behavior slips, the sticky notes, the half-finished tally sheet for a kid who switched classes in week two, and the Google Doc you started that first Friday and haven't opened since.
Nobody here is disorganized. The record is living in six formats because no single one of them does the job, so it splits. Then it keeps splitting until October, when somebody asks you to put it all back together.
Every note needs a person and a day attached to it.
Not "we'll keep an eye on him." Not "the team will monitor." An actual name and an actual date. Ms. Ruiz, check in Thursday.
Interventions mostly fail on this one thing. Everybody in the room cared. Nobody got assigned. π‘
A teacher turned her laptop around so a fourth grader could see his own week. Three greens in a row.
He asked whether he could check Friday's before the bus.
Kids will work for a number they can see. The ones sitting in a folder nobody's ever shown them might as well not exist. β
First SAT and Child Study meetings are landing this month.
Our MTSS Meeting Success Guide is the checklist: what to pull together beforehand, what to leave out, and how to answer "how do you know it worked?" without hauling in a shoebox of paper. It's free.

Your first SAT or Child Study meeting is coming. You get about five minutes per kid, so walk in able to answer three things:
1. What's the goal, in one sentence?
2. What have you actually tried?
3. Did it move?
Number three is where teams stall out. If you can't answer it in thirty seconds, that's a tracking problem, not a you problem. π‘
