We're honored to have earned 2nd Place in the 2026 Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI) Photo Contest! 🏆 This annual competition showcases unique projects from ground penetrating radar (GPR) professionals around the world, highlighting innovative applications of ground penetrating radar technology.

We're proud to see UES recognized among such a talented international group and grateful for the opportunity to showcase the work our team performs every day.

UES is on-site in Houston, TX for the Houston Country Club Bayou retaining walls project! Our team is providing construction materials testing and inspection services for an approximately 800-linear-foot Redi-Rock gravity wall, 955 piles, 208 soil anchors, and concrete construction for Houston Country Club Bayou.

Our scope includes soil density and laboratory testing, installation observations, reinforcing steel inspections, and concrete cylinder and grout cube testing. Structural steel inspections are performed by our in-house certified welding inspector team, and we're even on standby for weekend specimen pickups to keep pile and soil anchor work on schedule.

Our Grounded in Excellence Service Program Award recognizes the people behind our success. Each commemorative coin represents more than years of service—it celebrates the dedication, hard work, and growth, as well as how our teammates have embraced the STRIVE values along the way.

From 5-year anniversaries all the way to an incredible 65 years, every milestone is part of our story, and every teammate recognized has played a role in shaping who we are today.

September 11 is a day we will never forget.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and honor the first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage and sacrifice.

September 11 taught us that while buildings can fall, the spirit of a nation can endure.

Today, let us remember those we lost, honor those who served, and remain grateful for the freedom and resilience that define our nation. May we carry forward the spirit of service, compassion, and unity demonstrated by so many in the days and years that followed.

Our job sites are usually filled with engineers, technicians, equipment and plenty of hard work — but every now and then, we’re reminded that we’re sharing these spaces with some pretty incredible neighbors.

From curious critters to feathered friends and everything in between, UES team members have encountered all kinds of wildlife while working in the field. Today, we’re celebrating a few of the animals our teams have had the chance to spot, and in some cases work to relocate, along the way!

These encounters are a great reminder of the environments we work in and the importance of approaching every project with respect for the communities and ecosystems around us.

Today, UES joins the SAME Kittyhawk Post for the September 2026 luncheon at the Hope Hotel Conference Center in Dayton, Ohio.

We’re excited to have Jim Slusher, PE, UES National VDC Director, sharing his expertise on Subsurface Information Models (SIM) or “Underground BIM.”

Jim will discuss how integrating subsurface data into BIM workflows can provide a more complete view of below-grade conditions, support total asset modeling, and help teams identify and analyze potential clashes before construction begins.

We are happy to announce that Geotherm has joined UES! Based out of Katy, TX, Geotherm provides thermal resistivity testing with proprietary, industry-leading technology, for energy clients across North America.

The Geotherm team is highly respected for their thermal surveys, corrective backfills, and instrumentation design, and have supported underground and submarine power cable projects for clients around the world.

The energy end market, and particularly the need to install energy cables, is experiencing rapid expansion, with the increased demand due to data center loads and renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar. We are excited to partner with Geotherm to support this growing need for our clients, and our communities.
