Who makes fun feel genuine? . 🍓

At Karls, Maximilian Mairinger helps create places where families can spend time together, have fun, and leave happier than they arrived.

“We're not in the attraction business. We're in the conditions-for-happiness business.”

For Max, the magic is not only the big ride or grand entrance. It's the thousands of small, thoughtful choices that make an experience feel genuine. It's making the greatest attraction at the park belonging.

Through IAAPA, Max has found a global community whose creativity, ambition, and world-class thinking push him to keep challenging what's possible.

“The collective ambition and creativity in this community raises the bar for all of us, and that's exactly where I want to be.”

Celebrating the past. Looking toward the future. 🎉

On June 12 and 13, 1918, park operators gathered in New York City to discuss the shared challenges and opportunities facing the amusement park business, marking the beginning of what would become IAAPA.

More than a century later, IAAPA continues to bring the global attractions community together, supporting the people and organizations creating experiences that inspire, connect, and move our industry forward.
