Nothing fancy. Just the side of their home, a little afternoon light, and a whole lot of love happening in front of my camera. Sometimes the simplest spaces make room for the sweetest memories.

This engagement session almost didn’t happen.

The forecast was working against us — on-and-off rain, heavy clouds, and that constant “are we actually going to be able to pull this off?” feeling. And because Naomi & Jared don’t live in town, rescheduling wasn’t exactly an easy option.

So we decided to take our chances and make it work.

And somehow, the rain cleared with just enough time for us to get outside, slow down, have some fun, and create all of this. 🥹

Sometimes you don’t need perfect weather. You just need a little window, a couple willing to trust the process, and a photographer watching the sky every five seconds. 😂

My sweet Zenny,

Somehow, my baby is four. You are funny, wild, full of life, and filled with so much love. There’s a light in you that reaches far beyond your smile, the kind that settles into the hearts of everyone lucky enough to love you.

And your hugs… 🥹 There is just nothing like them. If I’m ever needing a little extra love, somehow your hugs can literally heal me. You wrap those little arms around me and in that tiny embrace, the whole world quiets, my heart softens, and everything feels at peace.

I remember when I first came across the name Zen. I just knew in my heart that it was you. Before I even really knew who you would become, something about that name felt like it belonged to you. You were my peace. My calmness. My little reminder to slow down and just be present.

Every time I leave for work or go anywhere without you, I already know what’s waiting for me when I get home. You run to me, give me the biggest hug and say, “Mommy, don’t you ever leave me again.” 😂🥹 As if I’ve been gone for three years instead of a few hours. And secretly, I hope you never stop missing me like that.

I hope you always stay exactly who you are at your core — funny, loving, curious, confident, a little crazy, and completely full of life. I hope you always know how deeply you are loved, how special you are and how much brighter our lives are simply because you’re in them.

I love you more than words could ever hold. And just like you always do, you’ll pull me close and say, “Mommy, I wanna tell you a secret,” before leaning in to whisper, “I love you so much, and you’re my best friend.” 🥹 I hope you always know that you are mine, too.
