There are 4 major pillars we look at when it comes to producing club head speed.
Pillar 1: Central Nervous System + Fast-Twitch Muscle
Speed is a skill. If you want your body to move faster, you have to actually train it to move faster. A huge part of speed is teaching your nervous system to recruit muscle quickly, transfer energy quickly during your swing, and produce force at higher velocities. If you want the force you create in your swing to actually reach the club head before impact, your CNS needs to be able to transfer that force quickly. Your nervous system governs all that.
Pillar 2: Sequencing
How you sequence the golf swing determines how well you transfer the force you create through your body and ultimately into the clubhead. A faster swing is by nature, a better sequenced swing.
Pillar 3: Mobility + Strength
You still need the physical ability to get into the right positions, produce force, and handle higher speeds. Improving mobility and maintaining base levels of strength ensures you’re capable of producing speed while making sure you stay healthy throughout your golf season.
Pillar 4: Equipment
You can have the ability to create a ton of speed but still leave speed on table if you aren’t playing the correct equipment for your swing. Things like driver head weight, shaft flex, swing weight, shaft length, grip size, and shaft kick point all play a major factor in maximizing the speed you produce on the course.
These are the 4 pillars we’ll be diving into during our 6-Week LIVE Speed & Distance Challenge starting November 2nd (Link in Bio).
There are tons of questions and misconceptions out there in how to gain speed and distance on the golf course. We’re going to help you learn exactly how to do that here, and if you want to get really detailed check out the link in our bio!
The ST360 will help you increase your speed ceiling AND improve your club face control 💪
The goodie bag just keeps growing!! Doors open in just a couple of days. Make sure to be one of the first to secure their spot.
We’re less than a week away from sign ups opening for our LIVE 6-WEEK SPEED & DISTANCE CHALLENGE. Link in bio. You aren’t going to want to miss this.
Speed training with your own driver shaft is key to gaining real speed that translates to the course 💪
Dropping your trail foot at address can increase your turn but it can also create more issues in your game. 2 of the biggest things amateur golfers struggle with is alignment and swinging over the top. If mobility is really holding you back, try flaring your trail foot while continuing to work on your mobility.
In November Charlie’s fastest speeds were 123 mph Speed Toad and 116 mph Dry Driver (proper 7 mph gapping). This week he hit 134 mph Speed Toad and 123 mph Dry Driver! Along with multiple 119 mph on his Quad hitting the ball. The fact his current Speed Toad/ Dry Driver gapping is 11 mph is really exciting because we know he’s got another 3-4 mph driver speed in the tank that will show up in the next few weeks as he shores up some sequencing differences between Speed Toad and Dry Driver 💪
3 things costing you distance this weekend on the course.
1. Missing the center of the face (toe or heel)
2. Hitting down on the driver (negative angle of attack) instead of swinging up on the ball (positive angle of attack)
3. Tensing up because you’re trying to swing harder or are scared of missing the fairway
