Thank you to Congressman Mike D. Rogers and his district director Sheri Rollins for taking the time to visit CREATE. Our students always enjoy an opportunity to share what they are learning and why CREATE is such a catalyst for changing the pathway to their future career.

Congressman Rogers also spoke with our staff, encouraging them to continue digging in as they change the traditional ways students have been preparing for the workforce. Workforce development continues to be a major driver in our economy.

CREATE serves students from 8 school systems across 4 counties, offering 10 high-wage, high-demand career pathways. We continue to work towards sustainability funding with state officials, as we are not funded through the Alabama State Department of Education like a traditional career tech facility.

We are grateful for our state legislators with the support of budget chairmen Senator Arthur Orr and Representative Danny Garrett who previously have approved 2 years of operational costs through an annual appropriation from the ETF supplemental budget.
Our local delegation consisting of Senator Keith Kelley, Rep Steve Hurst District 35, Chad Robertson - Alabama House of Representatives District 40, Representative Randy Wood District 36, Representative Barbara Boyd District 32, and Representative Mark Gidley District 29 continue to fight for our funding and we could not be more appreciative of all of their hard work.

This morning we welcomed 19 CREATE staff members to begin our THIRD year of operations!

EIGHT school systems will be sending their students this year for the opportunity to take high-wage, high-demand career tech pathways not offered at their home school.

We had 7 adults on campus when we opened our doors for year 1 in August 2024.

We are doing it, building it, pushing limits, and closing the gap between students and their future careers in ways that have never happened.
New pathways for this year will be Aviation and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics.

To CREATE something that you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something that you’ve never done. Every individual in this picture has committed to just that.✅

It was an honor to host the June Connect Calhoun meeting to give an update on CREATE, and tour newly elected officials. Thank you to Calhoun County, Alabama for ensuring these meetings are happening to allow for better communication among our communities.

SUMMER 2026 REGISTRATION IS OPEN‼️

FREE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION CLASSES TO BEGIN JUNE 16

Registration is now open until June 10 for a FREE 12-week training program to be held in Oxford in the fields of commercial carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and welding for adults looking to pursue a career in the respective commercial construction fields.

🧰These classes are open to any adult 18+ desiring to begin a career in commercial construction at NO COST thanks to a grant from the Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training Board - CICT.

🛠️Classes begin the June 16 and will be either M/W or Tue/Thu from 5:00pm-8:30pm. This is based on instructor availability.

🪛Classes will be held at CREATE;
1 Cliff Garrett Dr. Oxford, AL 36203.

🛠️You will receive a phone call to the number you provide on or before June 10 if you are accepted or wait listed.

🧰Each class is limited to 15 students.
