Scream Works Florida is unleashing Site 13, an industrial horror attraction built inside the forgotten expansion of the old Parrish Works Project. Shadows move through the sparks, alarms trip after midnight, and The Foreman’s lantern is the last thing most people remember seeing. Construction crews abandoned Site 13 decades ago. Now Parrish’s development boom has broken open what they sealed underground, and we’re opening the gates for everyone to see what never should’ve been found. Opening October 2026.

That was the promise.
Then the evaluations started.

Because when you enter Site 13, you are not deciding what happens next.
They are.
So here is the question.

This started with a haunted house in my front yard.
But the goal was never just Halloween.
We're trying to build something local that gives kids opportunities, supports other nonprofits, helps local businesses, brings people together, and eventually gives Manatee County something we can all call our own.
We're starting small. Very small.
October 30th and 31st, Site 13 will be open FREE from 7 to 11 PM at 12221 High Rock Way in Parrish. We will have local food trucks and drink vendors.
If you're able, bring canned goods for the Parrish Methodist Church food pantry or consider supporting ScreamWorks Florida, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Most importantly, come see what a bunch of local people can build when they decide to make something happen.
And Manatee County, I want to hear from you.

Haunt season is finally here.
The lights are on. The fog is rolling. And grown adults are once again voluntarily walking into dark buildings to get screamed at by strangers.
Everything feels right again.

ScreamWorks Florida is proud to be a member of the Haunted Attraction Association.
So what does that actually mean?
The Haunted Attraction Association represents haunted attractions, home haunters, designers, actors, artists, vendors, and other members of the haunt industry.
Its mission comes down to three things:
PROTECT.
PROMOTE.
EDUCATE.
For ScreamWorks Florida, membership matters because we are serious about how we build this.
Yes, Site 13 is starting as a community home haunt in Parrish.
But we are not interested in just throwing some walls up, turning off the lights, and calling it a haunted house.
We want to learn from the industry.
We want to build safely.
We want to improve our operations.
We want to connect with people who have been doing this far longer than we have.
And we want to take what we learn and use it to build something Manatee County can be proud of.
Being an HAA member does not mean we have reached the finish line.
It means we are choosing to build ScreamWorks Florida the right way from the beginning.
Small haunt.
Big standards.
Community first.

Room 1 is officially finished.
Lighting. Sound. Set dressing. Scare position.
Everything is finally working together.
For the first time, Site 13 is starting to feel less like something we’re building in the yard and more like an actual place you’re about to walk into.

Site 13 is getting closer.
October 30th and 31st, ScreamWorks Florida is bringing our free community home haunt back to Bella Lago on High Rock Way in Parrish.
Come get scared, grab something to eat or drink, hit the 360° photo booth, and help us show what this community can build together.
Admission is free. Donations to ScreamWorks Florida are appreciated, and canned goods are welcome for a local food pantry.
7 PM to 11 PM both nights.

We need four more people who want to spend Halloween making strangers question their life choices.
ScreamWorks Florida is looking for 4 scare actors for Site 13 on October 30 and 31 in Parrish.
No experience required.
Ages 16+.
You just need energy, reliability, and the willingness to get weird with us.
If you have ever wanted to be part of a haunt instead of just walking through one, this is your shot.

Childhood cancer does not end when treatment does. The impact can follow children and their families for years, and they deserve a community that keeps showing up long after the appointments are over.
Thank you, Sunshine Hope, Inc. for continuing to bring attention to these families and the support they need. This is what community is supposed to look like.

Got part of the crew together tonight, and things are starting to feel a whole lot more real.
We’d also like to officially introduce The Malunion.
You’ll be seeing a lot more of this character as Site 13 starts coming alive.
And because apparently getting scared works up an appetite, we’re happy to say the same ice cream truck will be back with us October 30th and 31st.
Scares inside. Ice cream outside. Seems fair.

100 degrees outside and apparently the haunt still expects to be built.
At this point “feeling a little woozy” is less of a movie quote and more of a progress report.
Still got walls to finish, lights to wire, and Halloween getting closer.
Florida is making us earn every inch of this thing.
