Healthy smiles start with education! A special thank you to Vivian Lee Orthodontics for generously donating 40 children’s books to Foothill Family! 💚

The books will be shared with families through our Early Head Start and Youth & Family Services programs throughout the year, helping make dental health education fun, engaging, and more accessible for the children we serve.

Staff Spotlight: Victor! Meet one of the incredible people behind Foothill Family! 💚

For him, one of the best parts of working at Foothill Family is knowing that support is always there, from coworkers to leadership. His advice to anyone beginning their journey here? Never be afraid to ask questions. There is always someone willing to help. Coming from a private practice background, his time at Foothill Family has also given him the opportunity to expand his knowledge, learn more about DMH, discover new resources, and strengthen the support he provides to clients.

He stays motivated by continuing to learn, whether that means exploring new outreach opportunities, completing trainings, or researching resources that meet a client’s specific needs. Motivated, hardworking, and always looking for the next opportunity to grow. 🌱 We’re grateful to have team members who bring that dedication to our families and community every day! 💚

Maternal mental health matters. 💚

With maternal mental health and the need for increased support for new mothers in the spotlight, we’re reminded of just how important it is to create spaces where mothers feel safe asking for help. Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period can bring significant emotional and mental health challenges. Yet too many mothers struggle silently out of fear of judgment, shame, or being misunderstood.

At Foothill Family, we believe every mother deserves to feel heard, supported, and cared for. Through compassionate mental health services and family-centered support, we’re here to help mothers navigate the challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood, without judgment and without having to face them alone.

Last week, members of our Nurturing Connections team attended the Maternal Behavioral Health In-Person Learning Collaborative, hosted at the California Commission for Behavioral Health office.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect with fellow professionals, strengthen our knowledge, and continue learning ways to better support mothers, children, and families in our communities. 🌱

For 50 years, their partnership has helped strengthen our programs, support families through times of need, and create lasting change throughout our community. Back-to-school season means connecting with our community! 🎒💚 Foothill Family was proud to join families and students at Emerson and El Monte High School, sharing resources and support to start the school year strong.

A special congratulations to our outreach superstar, Victor, who officially became a licensed LMFT this week! Victor was joined by Jolin and new intern Tino Melchor, who jumped right into supporting our community. We love seeing our team show up, connect, and make a difference! 💚
