I still can’t quite believe I get to type that. Natalie and Holden’s stunning “Mediterranean Napa” wedding was featured in Washingtonian Weddings and I was so honored to design custom artwork for them! 🥂

If you’ve ever wanted proof that the details make the wedding, this is it. Picture the Salamander’s culinary garden under a clear-top tent: terracotta pots spilling greenery, and tables named after w**e varietals (the head table? Grand Cru) 😍

I had the absolute pleasure of creating the custom sketch for the w**e bottles that Natalie and Holden gave to their guests as favors. Getting to contribute hand-drawn details to a celebration this thoughtfully designed, and extra special to have done this for a family I grew up with 🎨

There is A LOT of talk going around about what “luxury” means.

Is budget a large part of that? Yes. And I won’t pretend otherwise.

That being said, money isn’t everything. The other large part of the equation is experience. Is your vendor:

- Making the process as smooth as possible?
- Do they anticipate and fix problems for you without prompting? (Or maybe even without your knowledge)
- Are they bringing positive energy and make you and your guests feel at ease?
- Are they a good team member and work collaboratively?
- Do they make communication easy?

As a wedding an event artist, that’s what makes it “luxury”. Not only having talent and good quality work/materials, but also providing an amazing experience before, during, and after event day.
