Nine weeks since Brazoria County Sheriff's Department Deputy Kevin Tippit killed John Mendoza Jr., and there has still been no justice for his family, despite bodycam footage that shows exactly what happened.

Today, in Commissioners' Court, John Mendoza Sr. stood up and spoke about losing his son and the way elected officials have handled the case.

Commissioner Stacy Adams led a prayer FOR THE POLICE, for the BRAZORIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT to be exact.

Not for the family. Not for a grieving father. Not for accountability. For the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department that killed his son.

This is what "representing your county" looks like to Stacy Adams. A father buries his son and begs for justice, and this elected commissioner prays for the people who took him.

Watch it for yourself. Share this. People need to see how their elected commissioner responded to the peaceful protest that was held outside the Brazoria County Courthouse when a grieving father asked for justice.

🚨 PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUEST SUBMITTED – BRAZORIA COUNTY JAIL 🚨

Over the last hours, Corruption Watch Texas has received multiple citizen reports and tips alleging that a serious incident may have occurred at the Brazoria County Detention Center.

At this time, we do not know whether the information is accurate. We do not know who may be involved, what happened, or whether any reported incident actually occurred.

Because of those tips, we have submitted a Texas Public Information Act request seeking records related to any reported inmate su***de attempt, hanging, medical emergency, or death at the jail on June 21–22, 2026.

Bo is a puppet. He has a puppet master, and it’s definitely not the voters. He wants the badge and the fame but not the accountability. He hides behind what we call 3rd party activists and bureaucrats. (Robert Williams “Political Activist/Lobbyist”, Eugene Howard “Bo Campaigner”, Kenjo Kelley “Bo donor”, etc, etc, etc)

As far as a fair independent investigation goes, there’s no such thing in Brazoria County. The Texas Ranger (Arizmendi) is a hand picked LOCAL hometown guy leading the investigation. I can assure you the grand jury will not get all the facts and evidence needed to proceed with an indictment, but for fun let’s just say that they do indict Tippit…..this case will land in the courtroom of another hand picked good ole boy judge (Greg Hill….just ask Jeff Penà and Kevin Henry about this judge) that has the DA’s WIFE sitting in as his courtroom administrator (Debbie Selleck). THEN it is well documented (2022) that the jury in Brazoria County is stacked to deliver the desired outcome Greg Abbot’s hand picked DA (Tom Selleck) wants it to go. Don’t kid yourself, the Mendoza’s will not get justice in Brazoria County. This must be investigated by a true “outside” agency.

Here you Brazoria County. If the Texas Ranger’s is an independent law enforcement agency investigating the office involved shooting of John Mendoza Jr. Why is the county’s hired lawyer cancelling a Texas Ranger meeting with John Mendoza, Sr.?

There was never an independent investigation by the Texas Rangers. It was all them covering s*it up like they always.

Police Hire Lawyer After Deadly Traffic Stop: John Mendoza Jr. Update

In Lake Jackson, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office has brought in an outside attorney as the investigation into the fatal shooting of 18-year-old John Mendoza Jr. on June 1 moves forward. The county hired Houston lawyer Norman Giles from the firm Lewis Brisbois, who specializes in defending law enforcement and government officials in civil cases. The family’s attorney, Charles Adams, said Giles contacted him and blocked direct communication with county employees about the case. Planned meetings between John Mendoza Sr. and officials from the Texas Rangers, District Attorney’s Office, and Sheriff’s Office were canceled after the new lawyer got involved.

County officials are using a governmental risk pool to cover the cost of the outside counsel. In response to an open-records request, they asked the Texas Attorney General for permission to withhold body-camera footage, dispatch logs, traffic stop records, and the former deputy’s personnel file. They argued that releasing the information now could interfere with the ongoing Texas Rangers investigation. “We’re still trying to get answers about what happened to my son,” Mendoza Sr. said. “This is where our taxpayers’ money is going. The taxpayers may want to know about that, too.”

Experts say transparency is important after officer-involved shootings. Kelley Shannon of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas noted that quick access to facts helps the public trust police departments. The incident started when former deputy Kevin Tippit tried to pull over Mendoza shortly after midnight on June 1 near FM 2004. Instead of stopping, Mendoza drove to his father’s home, where Tippit fired his weapon inside the garage, killing the teen. Sheriff Bo Stallman fired Tippit on June 9 for violating department policies, and the Texas Rangers continue to investigate.
