We keep seeing posts suggesting $20 is too expensive for spectator admission and that race tracks should charge just $7 or $10.
But in 2026, with rising costs for purses, staffing, insurance, utilities, track prep, equipment and maintenance, can tracks realistically survive on $7 admission? No.
People will spend $25+ bowling, $30+ at the movies or $35+ at an escape room — but $20 for hours of live racing is too much?
What do YOU think is a fair price for spectator admission in 2026? 1,000 spectators at $10 = $10,000. What if track expenses are beyond $20,000?
We think tracks should be allowed to increase spectator and entry fees, as parts manufacturers have, to stay in business. Of course, provide good racing.
