A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Jeremy Yeatts of LyondellBasell—a proud veteran and valued member of our community—for speaking with our students today as part of our Career Speaker Series!

Mr. Yeatts introduced the students to exciting careers within the petrochemical and plastics industries and showed them how science, engineering, and technology are used in these essential fields.

Students learned about environmental protection, workplace safety, identifying and managing risks, and the importance of discipline, responsibility, and sound decision-making. They also discovered how Environmental, Health and Safety professionals help protect employees, communities, and the environment.

The students absolutely loved the interactive session and the opportunity to ask questions and learn directly from an experienced industry professional. Thank you, Mr. Yeatts, for generously sharing your time, knowledge, and experience—and for inspiring our students to see how STEM can make a meaningful difference in the world!

What an incredible session at SMART Core Labs today!

A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Jasmine Sardana for introducing our students to the world of medicine. Her presentation was thoughtful, informative and wonderfully interactive. She showed the children how doctors work as detectives, healers and teachers—and how STEM plays an important role in diagnosing illnesses, treating patients and saving lives.

The children participated in a hands-on heart-rate activity, used stethoscopes and experienced how doctors listen to the human body. They were fully engaged, eagerly asking questions and sharing their own experiences with doctors.

Our students represent a wide range of ages, so it was wonderful to see how differently they understood and responded to the information. Each child connected with the presentation in their own way, making the session especially meaningful.

Dr. Sardana has a remarkable ability to make medicine understandable and exciting for young minds. We are truly grateful to her for sharing her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with our students—today’s experience may have inspired a future physician!

Thank you, Dr. Sardana, for making this such a memorable day for our children.

A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Vishalakshmi Batchu for taking the time to speak with our campers about the exciting world of Internal Medicine!

Our students explored the science behind healthcare and medical decision-making, learning how doctors diagnose illnesses, develop treatments, and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day.

Dr. Batchu also introduced our campers to the incredible role technology plays in modern medicine—from X-rays, ultrasounds, and microscopes to laboratory testing, wearable devices, and artificial intelligence.

Thank you, Dr. Batchu, for sharing your knowledge, answering questions, and inspiring our young learners to imagine future careers at the intersection of medicine, science, and technology!

Tomorrow’s AI leaders are solving today’s real-world challenges!

We’re excited to introduce the inaugural Houston AI Institute–SMART Core Labs AI Innovation Fellows.

Ten talented students will work alongside industry mentors on AI projects focused on food security, industrial safety, smart water systems, healthcare, medical research, engineering, and innovation.

They’ll gain hands-on AI experience, build teamwork and problem-solving skills, and discover how technology can make a meaningful difference in our communities.

Young minds. Real AI. Real impact.
