Wednesday morning, Peekskill EMS gathered amongst healthcare professionals, colleagues and other emergency service agencies to celebrate the career of Dr. John McGurty.

Dr. McGurty served as Medical Director for New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital and Cortlandt Regional Paramedics. More importantly served as a teacher and mentor to many in EMS, a friendly face to those in the community, and a trusted physician to his patients.

As he made his final walkout from Hudson Valley Hospital we reflected on his numerous achievements and his everlasting impact that he has had on Emergency Medicine and more importantly the community.

Congratulations on your retirement. We wish you the best of luck your future endeavors and we will miss you.

Bear Mountain Bridge Rd is much deserving of it’s nickname β€œThe Goat Trail.” With its many mountainside twists and turns, this road demands caution while driving, especially in wet, slippery conditions.

Peekskill EMS has responded to a total of 14 MVAs on the Goat Trail during the month of September. We urge drivers, even the most experienced ones, to use more caution when driving.
