Upholding the Mission Statement of the NAACP, we are the Peekskill area chapter of the NAACP and invite you to invest in your community.
The Peekskill area (including areas in an approximate 10-50 mile area) is in need of a change. This change is not to create barriers but to create more connections to allow positive change that allows our multicultural and diverse community a voice for promoting justice and peace. Happy Juneteenth! The oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure all enslaved people were freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
