Dementia and Parkinson's disease don't always arrive one at a time — and when they overlap, standard care plans often fall short.
In his latest Aging in Place RedefinedTM article, “When Dementia and Parkinson's Overlap: Why Traditional Care Plans Often Fall Short,” Eric Dalton breaks down why families navigating both conditions at once need a more clinically integrated approach — not two separate plans layered on top of each other.
This is exactly the kind of specialized insight our Memory Care AngelsTM and Neuro-Mobility AngelsTM programs were built around. Read the full article — link in bio. https://m360.us/80f68

We don't take this one lightly.
Angels on Call Homecare has been named a 2026 Caring SuperStar by Caring.com — a national distinction earned through years of verified reviews from the families we serve,
not nominations or applications.
As Eric Dalton, VP of Operations and visionary behind our specialized care model, put it: “Families navigating dementia or Parkinson's disease aren't simply looking for someone to assist with daily tasks. They're looking for guidance, structure, understanding, and a care team capable of navigating incredibly complex moments with both clinical skill and
genuine human connection.”
This recognition belongs to every Care Professional who shows up fully, every single day. Read the full announcement — link in bio.

Caregivers, this one's for you.
Today is International Self-Care Day — and if you're caring for a loved one with dementia or Parkinson's, we need to say something clearly: you cannot run on empty
and call it love.
Burnout doesn't mean you're failing. It means you're human, and you've been carrying more than one person should carry alone.
Three honest reminders: asking for help is not giving up; rest is not selfish, it's what makes good care possible; and you deserve the same compassion you give every day.
This is exactly why our Care Professionals exist — not to replace you, but to stand beside you. If you're feeling stretched thin, let's talk about respite care options. Message us today.

Today is World Brain Day. This year's global theme: Brain Health for All Ages.
Your brain doesn't wait until your 70s to need care — it's the result of decades of habits. The good news? Many of the same habits that protect brain health also slow the progression of conditions like dementia and Parkinson's.
Three things our Care Professionals encourage every day: movement, even gentle daily movement supports cognitive function; connection, social engagement is brain health,
not just emotional wellbeing; and purpose, having a reason to get up matters as much as any medication.
Brain health is a lifelong project — for all ages, at every stage. Have questions about supporting brain health for a loved one with dementia or Parkinson's? Send us a message — we're here.
A person living with dementia stops initiating activities, withdraws from conversations, sleeps more, and seems emotionally disconnected.
Many families assume depression.
But it may be apathy, a loss of motivation, initiation, or drive that can occur as dementia changes the brain.
The two can look similar, but they are not always the same.
Apathy may look like:
• Little motivation to begin activities
• Dependence on others for prompting
• Emotional flatness or detachment
• Limited concern about the change
Depression is more likely to include:
• Persistent sadness
• Guilt or worthlessness
• Hopelessness
• Tearfulness or emotional distress
Apathy and depression can also occur together, which is why changes in mood, motivation, or behavior deserve thoughtful evaluation not assumptions.
Do not call the person lazy.
Do not simply tell them to cheer up.
Look for pain, illness, medication changes, poor sleep, or unmet needs. Simplify tasks. Use familiar routines. Reconnect the person with purpose. Create opportunities for small, meaningful success.
Because behavior is communication and expert dementia care begins by understanding what the person may be unable to explain.

Most homecare was never designed for the full complexity of Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s care at home involves far more than mobility. Medication timing, freezing episodes, balance changes, cognition, communication, safety, and daily structure can all affect a person’s independence and quality of life.
That is why Parkinson’s specific preparation matters.
Angels on Call Homecare is the nation’s only homecare provider combining Certified Parkinson’s Disease Care (CPDC) accreditation with Parkinson’s Foundation Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care (CPPC) recognition.
This is not general homecare applied to Parkinson’s.
It is specialized support built around the realities of Parkinson’s disease and the complete person living with it.
The gold standard for specialized Parkinson’s disease care at home.
Save this reel for future reference and share it with a person, family, caregiver, or care partner navigating Parkinson’s.

This week is National Therapeutic Recreation Week — and if you've ever seen someone with dementia light up during a familiar song, or a person with Parkinson's move more
freely during gentle guided movement, you already know why this matters.
Recreational therapy isn't “extra.” For our clients living with dementia and Parkinson's disease, it's clinical. Music therapy can unlock memories that conversation can't reach. Art therapy gives a voice to feelings that words no longer can. Gentle movement
supports both the body and the brain.
This is the heart of our HALO MethodTM — care that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
Quality of life isn't a bonus. It's the goal.

Some recognitions land differently — not because of the title, but because of what it represents.
Eric J. Dalton, VP of Operations and the visionary behind Angels on Call Homecare's specialized care model, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who in America — a national honor reserved for professionals whose work has made a measurable impact in their field.
For Eric, this isn't about a plaque. It's about every Care Professional who shows up with patience for a client who can't remember their name twice in one visit. It's about every family who finally feels understood instead of just assisted.
Specialized care in dementia and Parkinson's disease isn't a service add-on at Angels on Call Homecare — it's the whole mission. This recognition reflects that commitment.
Congratulations, Eric. We're proud to call you one of our own.
