It Wouldn't Stop!

No need to long arm this monster Pomp! When I saw it swimming to shore I about lost my mind knowing how big it was. I quickly loosened my drag before that last fight at the lip and eased it out of the water. I was so pumped to catch this fish! It measured 17 to the fork and ate live Sandfleas.

The Catfish were relentless today hitting the baits almost immediately. But these kids had a blast running from rod to rod. We threw out some cutbait to try for another species and the Bluefish didn't disappoint! The cutbait rod quickly became the popular rod with everyone keeping their eyes on it. Bluefish are aggressive and put up a solid fight. Haigen, Holden, and Hattie fished hard and had a great time while doing it.

It was some tough conditions out there with big waves and strong current but the Williams family made it happen! These kids were a big help, doing bait checks, getting Sandfleas on the hooks, and keeping an eye on the rods. Everytime they landed a fish it was huge smiles and excitement! They brought home 4 quality Pompano for dinner and some lifetime memories. I'd be willing to bet they will be addicted to surf fishing from now on!
