Guardian Centers
America’s Premier Disaster Preparedness Training and Validation Complex
Guardian Centers of Georgia is unlike any other training facility in the world – a modern cityscape that enables realistic, large scale disaster response exercises, with involvement of multiple organizations, from “boots on the ground” first responders…to leadership teams from local, state, and federal authorities. Born of need and shaped by experience, the Guardian Centers in Perry, Georgia puts everything in one place, creating a single site to test plans, people, and equipment…and eliminating the need for multiple drills and multiple sites. The 830 acre complex, available for use 24/7 throughout the year, can simulate almost any disaster, on almost any scale…enabling up to 7,000 participants at a time to train in a realistic cityscape

🪵🧙♂️ **Final assessment complete—the Wood Wizards have done it!**
The final USAR Timber Shoring assessment challenged the teams to construct maximum-height, three-post vertical shores supporting point loads that required laminated headers. The completed systems demonstrated the precision, technical knowledge, teamwork, and attention to detail developed throughout the week.
And with that, the course is officially complete! 🎉
The feedback has been incredible:
👏🏻 “Absolutely amazing. Outstanding!”
👏🏻 “A world-class performance.”
👏🏻 “Excellent across every element—especially the course delivery and instructors.”
It has genuinely been a pleasure to deliver this training. We are also incredibly grateful for the outstanding hospitality extended to our instructors throughout the week. What a great group of professionals!

🪵🧙♂️ **Day 4 down—and only one more to go for the Wood Wizards!**
Today’s USAR Timber Shoring assessment presented the team with a complex, evolving scenario. The team first used **Paratech equipment to provide immediate stabilization**, then constructed the timber shoring system around it to capture and transfer the horizontal load to the exterior wall.
When the structural engineers’ sensors detected movement in the floor, the team had to adapt quickly—installing laced-post shores around the horizontal shoring system to capture and support the additional load.
The entire scenario was completed to a very high standard, demonstrating excellent technical knowledge, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to safety. Outstanding work! 👏🏼🇮🇪
One final day to go! 💪🏼

🚨 OFFICIAL FERDINAND UPDATE 🚨
The situation has developed.
Ferdinand was spotted on campus this morning conducting what appeared to be routine Pond Operations inspections. While he remains professional on the surface, sources report he may be aware that negotiations regarding his future are intensifying.
His original management team remains expected to arrive soon, and a new strategy is now being deployed:
🐄 Reinforcements.
In an effort to encourage Ferdinand to remain in one location long enough for a peaceful transition, plans are underway to introduce a cow companion to the operation.
Whether this is a carefully coordinated recovery effort or the beginning of a Hallmark movie, we are not yet prepared to say.
Meanwhile, campus activities continue as normal. Today’s training schedule includes live explosives demonstrations between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
So to summarize:
🐄 Ferdinand is still here.
🐄 A mystery cow is reportedly on the way.
💥 Things will be exploding this afternoon.
❤️ The internet is emotionally unprepared.
As always, we will continue to provide updates from the Pond Operations Division as events unfold.
Please keep Ferdinand, the incoming cow, and our increasingly stressed HR department in your thoughts during this difficult time.
