City of Perryton is currently accepting applications for an Emergency Dispatcher!

Starting Pay: $20.20/hour
End of 1st Year: $22.18/hour

Emergency dispatchers are a critical part of public safety. You’ll be the voice on the other end of the line when someone needs help and the connection between our community and the officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel responding to those calls.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Calm and dependable under pressure
• A strong communicator
• Able to multitask and think quickly
• Comfortable working with computers and technology
• Professional and committed to serving the community
• Willing to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

No two shifts are exactly alike, and every call matters.

Update: The intersection is now open and is a 4 way stop. All lanes are open. The only closure at this time is sw 1st.

Update: For now the area will remain closed until tomorrow. TxDOT will be placing cones to show the closed areas.

Main Street is shut down from Brillhart to 2nd St. Tx DOT is on scene addressing the light that is down at the intersection of Brillhart and Main. We will keep this post updated with any further information as we receive it. Please avoid the area.

Join us as at the Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament Aug 1st as we honor the memory of Bucky Goldsberry and his lifelong dedication to our community.

All registered golf tournament players will receive one free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased between 10am and 2pm at the golf course for $25 or 2 for $40. The drawing will be held at the end of the tournament.

Bucky served our community in law enforcement, as Crime Stoppers Coordinator, and as our previous Justice of the Peace. We are grateful for his legacy of service.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

The Perryton Police Department wants to make citizens aware of a scam currently circulating in our area.

Several individuals have reported receiving phone calls claiming to be from Xcel Energy. The caller states that your electric service will be disconnected within 30 minutes unless an immediate payment is made.

⚠️ This is a scam.

Xcel Energy will not typically demand immediate payment over the phone or threaten disconnection within minutes. Scammers often pressure victims to pay using gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or other unusual payment methods.

If you receive one of these calls:
✅ Hang up immediately.
✅ Do not provide personal or financial information.
✅ Do not make any payments requested by the caller.
✅ Contact Xcel Energy directly using the phone number listed on your bill to verify your account status.
