Don’t follow someone simply because they are gifted in deliverance, healing, prophecy, or because dramatic signs seem to follow their ministry. Gifting is not the same thing as sound doctrine. I recently heard a well-known minister make statements about Jesus descending into hell after the cross that were deeply disturbing and completely unsupported by Scripture—including claims that Jesus was tortured and sexually assaulted there. I will not mention his name because my purpose is not to publicly shame or destroy another minister. My purpose is to encourage discernment in the Body of Christ.
This same minister has also made sweeping claims that everyone who comes seeking deliverance or the baptism of the Holy Spirit in his church receives it. Statements like this should cause us to examine things carefully. In ministry, there are often people who do not immediately receive what they are seeking for a variety of reasons. We should be very careful about making absolute claims that Scripture itself does not make. Even before these recent statements, there were things in some of his content that caused red flags to go up in my spirit.
But hear me clearly: we should pray for him, not tear him apart with our words. When someone’s theology goes off course, our response should not be mockery, hatred, gossip, or celebration of their failure. We should pray that God brings correction, humility, clarity, repentance where necessary, and a renewed commitment to the truth of His Word. At the same time, compassion does not require us to abandon discernment.
Learn to recognize arrogance when it is being presented as confidence. Learn to recognize when charisma is being mistaken for spiritual authority. Learn to recognize when extraordinary experiences are being elevated above Scripture, and learn to recognize when a preacher begins confidently teaching things that the Bible simply does not say. Signs and wonders are not our final standard. Personality is not our final standard. Popularity is not our final standard. Scripture is.

Inside every broken soul is a hidden treasure.
What Christ teaches us is to see beyond the brokenness, the flaws, the failures, and everything that has fallen short of the glory of God. He teaches us to look at people through His eyes.
When we see through the eyes of Jesus, we begin to recognize the beauty of Christ being formed in believers. And when we look at those who do not yet know Him, we see more than who they are in this moment—we see who they can become in Christ.
Think about how many gifts are lying dormant inside people.
Think about the callings that have been buried beneath rejection, addiction, failure, insecurity, trauma, bad decisions, and years of believing the wrong things about themselves.
Sometimes what looks broken on the outside is simply treasure that has not yet been uncovered.
Jesus had a way of seeing beyond a person's present condition. He saw Peter beyond his instability. He saw Matthew beyond his reputation. He saw the woman at the well beyond her string of marriages and relationships. He saw Saul beyond his persecution of the Church.
Christ sees what His grace can produce in a surrendered life.
As believers, we should learn to do the same.
Instead of only identifying what is wrong with people, we should also ask, "What has God placed inside of them?" What gifts can be nurtured? What purpose can be awakened? What strengths can be developed? What could this person become if they truly encountered Jesus and surrendered their life to Him?
People don't need someone to remind them of everything that is broken. They need someone who can see the treasure beneath the rubble and call it forth.

What you find your identity in will reveal whose you are.
Is your identity in your job, title, wealth, position, or how much people love and approve of you? Or is it found in Christ?
As followers of Jesus, we cannot put our identity as children of God on the shelf for a position this fallen world makes look glamorous. Titles and success may describe what we do, but they should never define who we are.
We belong to God.
Our greatest reward is not what Jesus can give us. Our reward is Jesus Himself.
Never trade your eternal identity for a temporary title. Know who you are, but more importantly, know whose you are.
Good word....

Many Christians know Jesus is victorious, yet still live as though the enemy has the final word. Why?
Because they either don't understand the authority Christ has given them, or they misunderstand how that authority is exercised.
Our authority is not rooted in our experience, our emotions, our titles, or our abilities. It is rooted in Jesus Christ alone. Every victory over darkness, every chain broken, every life transformed is possible because He has already conquered sin, death, and the powers of darkness.
At the same time, spiritual authority is never a license for pride. We do not command the enemy because we are powerful—we stand against him because we are submitted to the One who is.
The sons of Sceva learned that you cannot borrow authority from someone you do not know. The name of Jesus is not a magical formula; it is the authority of the risen King, entrusted to those who belong to Him.
When believers stop looking at the size of the battle and start looking at the greatness of Christ, fear gives way to faith, intimidation gives way to confidence, and defeat gives way to victory.
Walk humbly. Stand boldly. Remain submitted to Christ.
True spiritual authority flows from relationship with Jesus—not from human strength.

Are Christians still subject to the power of Satan according to Scripture?
Take into consideration Luke 10:19.
Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power…over all the power of the enemy.” This does not mean Christians will never face temptation, deception, oppression, or spiritual attack. It means Satan no longer has ruling authority over those who belong to Christ.
Colossians 1:13 says that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His Son. Christians are not under Satan’s dominion, but we are still commanded to remain watchful, resist the devil, and give him no place.
Satan may attack, but he does not have the final authority. The believer who submits to God, stands in truth, and exercises faith in Jesus Christ has been given authority over the enemy.
We are not called to live beneath Satan’s power. We are called to stand in Christ’s victory.
“Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” —1 John 4:4

What if we've been looking at mental health with the wrong perspective all this time?
After my own journey through addiction, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and after helping many others find freedom from mental oppression and torment, I became convinced that true freedom is possible through the power of Jesus Christ.
I've watched God do in a single moment what people had spent years searching for. When Jesus breaks chains, freedom isn't merely a process—it can be an encounter.
That is why I wrote "The Spirit of Insanity."
This book doesn't dismiss the reality of mental health. It presents a fresh, biblically grounded perspective on the unseen battle for the mind, exposing the enemy's strategies while pointing readers to the hope, healing, and freedom found in Christ.
Whether you're personally struggling, walking alongside someone who is, or simply searching for biblical answers, this book will challenge you to look beyond the symptoms and consider a deeper question:
What if many people have been treating symptoms while overlooking the true source of the battle?
📖 The Spirit of Insanity is available now on Amazon.
