Mondays 5:15 pm this fall at Cardell!

This class is designed for dancers ages 10+ eager to learn modern dance techniques. This class provides training through technical and creative warm-ups and phrases; and will develop the young dancer’s creativity by providing opportunities to create their own movements and dances through improvisational and choreographic structures. Looking for a weekend activity this fall for your little one? Registration is open for:

Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet for Ages 3-5 with Teacher Loren Groenendaal
Sundays 9:30-10:15 am 
October 4th—November 22nd (8 classes)

This playful approach to learning dance class will introduce children ages 3 to 5 years old to creative dance techniques and foundational ballet. Teacher Loren references the Brain Dance method, Laban Movement Analysis and developmental movement patterns to teach engaging, age-appropriate classes, supporting young dancers’ neuromotor, social, and creative development.

Flexibility and Conditioning with Silvana Cardell

Mondays 10-11 AM ☀️

This is a supportive, accessible class designed to develop improve range of motion, mobility, and ease in the body. The work draws from conditioning exercises and floor-based practices used in modern dance training, but it does not teach choreography or dance combinations. Through breath, gentle stretching, active flexibility, and alignment exercises, students develop greater freedom of movement while working safely at their own level. Supportive for dancers and non dancers alike who wish to move with greater confidence, responsiveness, and embodied awareness.

Restorative Stretch with Silvana Cardell

⏰ Saturdays 8:45-9:45 AM
 🗓️ September 19th-December 12th

This class combines somatic awareness, breath, gentle mobility, flexibility, and release techniques to support greater ease and freedom in movement. Informed by elements of Gerda Alexander’s Eutony, the class helps students recognize unnecessary tension and develop a clearer relationship to weight, alignment, sensation, and range of motion. The class offers dancers a restorative complement to their training while also welcoming adults who wish to feel more grounded and connected to their bodies.

Bring your exercise mat, a blanket or several layers, and two tennis balls if possible.

Intermediate/Advanced Level Contemporary Technique with Silvana Cardell returns this fall!

This is a dynamic class that develops strength, coordination, musicality, and expressive movement. Students explore floorwork, traveling phrases, weight shifts, suspension, momentum, and full-bodied movement while building a grounded and adaptable contemporary dance practice.

Beginner Contemporary Technique with Silvana Cardell is back this fall!

This introductory contemporary dance class for adults is great for those who are new to dance or returning after time away. Drawing on Silvana Cardell’s decades of teaching, the class offers a gradual introduction to Humphrey/Limón principles through breath, weight, gravity, suspension, and fall and recovery—nurturing a healthy, grounded relationship with the body and the joy of moving.
