Curtains Up for “At Rise . . .”
“At Rise . . .” the Philadelphia Dramatists Centers’ play reading series is back, starting on Sepember 28th, 2026.
“At Rise . . .” gives emerging and experienced playwrights the chance to hear actors read their works in progress and receive feedback from an audience of writers, actors, directors, and theatergoers.
“At Rise . . .” An entertaining evening of new, original work by local playwrights.
“At Rise . . .” A revitalization of PDC’s commitment to helping writers develop their ideas from rough draft to on-stage realization.
“At Rise . . .” A networking event for theater industry artists and theater-lovers.
“At Rise . . .” takes place on the 4th Monday of each month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Collier Room of the Philadelphia Ethical Society on Rittenhouse Square.
Scheduled dates: September 28, 2026; October 26, 2026; November 23, 2026; December 23, 2026; January 25, 2027; February 22, 2027; March 23, 2027; and April 26, 2027.
PLAYWRIGHTS: To schedule your work for a reading, submit 15–25 script pages through this Google form: https://forms.gle/ckT5MTWoE8A2MBut8.
The format is flexible, and shorter or longer pieces may be read as time allows.
Featuring free light refreshments.
Admission free and open to the public.
